Set within a complex of similar properties on a working farm, it is just 100 metres from the golden sandy beach - perfect for walkers, swimmers and four-legged friends alike. Spend your days splashing in the surf, exploring the local nature reserve or visiting the nearby market towns before returning to the property for an al fresco meal on the patio.

 

Inside, this coastal bolthole is spacious and bright, with a large open-plan kitchen/diner that’s perfect for sociable family mealtimes. Prepare delicious feasts on the large range oven while fellow guests enjoy a glass of wine at the breakfast bar. When night falls, fire up the wood burner in the large lounge and hunker down for a cosy evening of films, TV or board games. A conservatory provides an alternative area to relax. Upstairs, the three elegant bedrooms are brimming with character through striking exposed beams and ceiling trusses. French doors open from the conservatory onto a sunny patio, which leads to a large lawn where children and dogs can play. A shared children’s play area for even more entertainment for younger guests.

 

Set just back from the dunes, this property is the perfect seaside escape for family, friends and dogs. Play, walk, paddle and picnic on the beautiful sandy beach, just 100 metres from the front door. Stroll into the village for a choice of two popular pubs, one with its own micro-brewery, or visit the local nature reserve for a quiet look at the enchanting birdlife. Just 6 miles north is the watersports mecca of Beadnell Bay (6 miles), where surfing, windsurfing, sailing and scuba diving can all be enjoyed.

We've had a fantastic week at The Granary . The cottage was clean, comfortable and the lovely garden was a bonus. The location is great for the beach and lovely walks across the surrounding countryside. Hopefully we'll be returning again.

The Granary is a wonderful holiday Cottage. The property is spacious, comfortable, pretty well equipped and ideally located for exploring the wide open beaches of the NE Coast. We were blessed with lovely weather, but even in less clement weather there is plenty to see and do in the area. There were one or two issues with equipment - the Hoover didRead moren't work, no washing basket/pegs, but nothing to detract from our holiday. Would we stay there again? In a heartbeat. Hide

Fabulous property, ideally located for walks on a quiet beach. We loved the location and vicinity to two excellent pubs in the village ( both walking distance) and how well equipped and excellently maintained the property was. It really is a lovely place and we will definitely recommend and return to this property.

We had a fantastic week at The Granary. The location is wonderful, so close to the beach and the property was well equipped with a lovely sunny garden. We enjoyed day trips to Seahouses, Bamburgh and Alnwick. We loved having our mornings on the beach. The on-site playground was also a hit.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grannary and felt at home straight away. The house had everything we needed, especially enjoyed the conservatory and lovely garden. All bedrooms are a good size and plenty of cupboard space! An Ideal location with a wonderful quiet beach just a couple of minutes walk through the dunes. This is a super house in a great location a stones throw from the beach. The bright large conservatory is very welcome and comfortable and a great way to enjoy the garden on cooler days. Generally well equipped and very spacious. Enclosed garden great for the dogs and grandchild!

I stayed at the cottage with my Mum, my 22 year old daughter and 2 dogs.. The cottage was beautiful and very comfy, we spent most evenings sat in the conservatory. The dogs enjoyed the fully enclosed garden. The beach was great, we enjoyed walks along the bay. We enjoyed a couple of meals in the local pub which was within walking distance. A very spacious cottage with an enclosed rear garden. Ideally situated only a short walk from the beach and only half a mile from the local pub serving good food. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, including large American style fridge/freezer. There is a separate large lounge. Would definitely stay again.

Granary Cottage is wonderful - spacious and well equipped. Its trump card is its nearness to the fabulous beach (a 5 minute walk). The cottage was warm and comfortable, with constantly available hot water.

Lovely cottage - extremely well equipped and spotless. Enclosed garden great for the dogs as was easy access to the beach. Very quiet location. We have been to Newton by the Sea many times and this cottage is probably the best we have stayed in.
