We enjoyed our stay at the Bothy. It is cosy and perfect for a couple. The location is great as close to Alnwick and the coast, and was within easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit. Facilities were good, everything worked and the heating was very good. The things that stood out for me for this cottage were the small things that made a staRead morey more comfortable or unusual, e.g. underfloor heating in the shower room, map wall in the the dining area, wooden coasters, driftwood coat rack, the wonderful local photography (which we liked so much we went and bought three in Warkworth!) As the property is surrounded by other properties there's no great view, but the courtyard garden is pleasant, and it's an easy few minutes' drive to the lovely beach. There is a useful convenience store in the village, and we used supermarkets in nearby Alnwick. We ate twice at the Fishing Boat Inn at Boulmer and the food was great (as was the superb sweeping sea view). We visited Alnwick Garden, Barter Books (great food there too!), Cragside, Wallington, Howick Gardens, Bamburgh and Holy Island (castle closed currently), Amble, Alnmouth, Warkworth and Craster, Seaton Delaval. No need to bring: hairdryer, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, hand soap for bathroom. Hide

Very happy with the cottage, location etc. Absolutely spotless could not fault this at all! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location was good although not much to walk to in the village so we had to use the car all the time. However Alnwick, Alnmouth are all very nearby.
