Shepherd's Hut is situated in an idyllic setting in the heart of the Derwent Valley. Surrounded by open countryside this shepherd's hut provides the perfect 'Glamping' experience for first time campers or those looking for a little added comfort on their next camping break. Whether you are looking for a rural hideaway, a romantic break or a family 'Glamping' holiday, Shepherd's Hut provides the ideal place to stay.

Shepherd's Hut is also a great place to stay if you enjoy fly fishing. The River Derwent is literally a stone's throw from the Hut and is great for salmon and trout fishing (permits are available locally, please ask on arrival). If you enjoy wildlife, Red Kites are renowned in this area and there is even a Red Kite nest located on the owner's farmland, so you can be sure to see them flying overhead. Also Deer are regular visitors through this field, and you will be sure to see them having a roam around at some point during your stay!

Please Note - this Shepherds Hut is under new ownership at Hagg Hill Farm. The current owners are currently undergoing some building work to their house, which should not impact on your stay, but you may see this on the lead up on the drive to the Shepherds Hut.

Shepherds hut is in a very peaceful place just what me and wife needed after having a baby, bbq and a few drinks in front of the log fire what more could you want. The owners couldn't do enough for us, she is very friendly and has just taken over but has some really good plans for the place we look forward to staying again to see how there venture is getting on

I really enjoyed my stay at this little Sheperds Hut. Waking up with the birds sing. Had a visit of a deer next to the cabin. 2m distance. Very nice and relaxing to stay here. The Hut was nice and tidy. I had all that I needed in the cottage. When you’re looking for a nice small cottage in a private setting, surrounded by nature, then this is a place you want to look for.
