Property code: 78160

A newly renovated for 2020 barn conversion, one of three, situated in the heart of the Northumberland countryside which is an idyllic spot for a family getaway or a holiday with friends.

Tucked away on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, plenty of adventures lie close to home so you can get out and explore without jumping in the car. Fabulous, contemporary style beautifully complements the rustic, traditional features throughout, with the exposed beams adding bags of character and charm. Sleeping 14 guests across seven bedrooms, all of which have en-suites, whisk family and friends away to the countryside and return home each evening to the welcoming wood burner and bubbling hot tub.

Step inside and head straight for the heart of the home, the open-plan living space which exudes elegant yet characterful, rustic style. Sink into comfortable sofas and put your feet up for a moment of peace and quiet and throw a log on the wood burner to warm things up - a welcome sight after days in the great outdoors. Behind the wood burner sits the sleek kitchen where the island creates ample space for chopping, slicing and dicing, and inviting sous chefs to help you rustle up a feast. For an easy, sundowner meal, fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco before dipping in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly in hand. Steal away for a moment alone in the snug or take part in fun games nights on the pool table upstairs. Five of the seven beautiful bedrooms reside on the first floor, with the first two rooms located on the ground floor. Each room is treated to its own en-suite so there is no need to queue to freshen up in the mornings or after adventures. Rise and shine and enjoy spending time in the garden before you head out for the day. There is off-road parking and an electric car charging point.

Make the 9-mile journey to the vibrant market town of Hexham where you can dine out or enjoy a gentle morning strolling the streets past eclectic independent shops and galleries. Head to Cawfields Quarry (15.5 miles) where you can find remains of Hadrian’s Wall, a great place from which to start a walk steeped in history.

This is a beautifully converted agricultural building renovated to a very high standard throughout. It is particularly nice to find a holiday property where all bedrooms are equal. We were a family group so the pool table and hot tub were a great hit. Kirsty the owner is always on hand and was very welcoming. A great venue for a family holiday.

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.
