Our third visit to Seahouses and first to Little Cottage. A dear Little Cottage well equipped for two adults and their dog. We really enjoyed being able to walk from the front door to Bamburgh for lunch in The Bamburgh Castle Inn or The Victoria Hotel. Both have excellent food and in The Victoria Hotel, your dog is very welcome indoors. We also walRead moreked to Beadnell and sat at the quay. There are no cafe's in Beadnell, but the caravan site sells teas/coffee/cakes/sandwiches. We revisited the market town of Amble, Morpeth and Alnwick. All very dog friendly. A trip up to Coldstream on the border with Scotland was a change in scenery and a great walk on a large farm estate just outside of Coldstream. All in all, a wonderful holiday. Thank you very much Cottages in Northumberland. Hide

Excellent location and the best cottage we've stayed in over the 5 years we've been coming over to Seahouses. The layout was perfect for our party of 2+dog. We very much appreciated the thoughtfulness of the owners in terms of both provisions (logs; firelighters; binbags; washing up liquid etc) and dcor. Always recommending Cottages in NorthumberlaRead morend; and have already recommended Little Cottage to work colleagues. Little Cottage is the perfect base for 2-3 people and up to 2 dogs. Excellent standard of dcor and facilities but still very practical, comfortable and cosy. Logburner lights first time - always a plus after a long day's walking. Hide

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.
