This cottage is a beautifully finished, home from home holiday property with lots of lovely, thoughtful touches to make your holiday extra special. Located within just a minute’s walk of the centre of Seahouses village with plenty of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from; not to mention the busy  fishing harbour where you can enjoy boat trips over to The Farne Islands. Cockle Cottage has easy access to the nearby coastal footpath linking you to the other seaside villages along this stunning Heritage Coastline.

The cottage is set a little way back from the road and from the front door you will come in to a small  hallway with a cloakroom complete with WC. The hallway leads into an open-plan lounge and dining area with two leather sofas, coffee table and Smart TV, plus a wood burner-effect electric fire which makes for a cosy evening in when you want to relax  and watch a film. The dining area has a table with seating for up to four guests where you can enjoy some home-cooked meals in together. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you will need, including an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Upstairs there are two tastefully furnished bedrooms, including  the master bedroom with a king-size bed, double wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and WC. The second bedroom has twin beds. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and WC.

Outside at the rear, there is an enclosed patio-style garden with outdoor furniture and there is parking for two cars. The cottage is centrally heated for a cosy stay any time of year.

Seahouses is a beautiful seaside village in Northumberland. The village has plenty of places to eat, whether in a restaurant, cafe or takeaway. There are a friendly pubs within walking distance from the cottage and you will find a co-op supermarket for your extra supplies. Seahouses has a lovely golden beach and coastal path and a stunning golf course, as well as the bustling harbour, where you can take a boat trip across to the Farne Islands which is a famous sea bird sanctuary with a colony of Grey Seals. A  little further up the coast you will find beautiful Bamburgh village with the iconic Bamburgh Castle as the backdrop.

Just half an hours' drive from Seahouses, is the famous Alnwick Castle, where Harry Potter was once filmed. The castle is one of Britain’s most iconic castles and they have an array of events on throughout the year. You can visit their state rooms and discover the second largest inhabited castle in the UK. Dating back to the 1309 its story has been intertwined by the Percy Family, who still live on site today. Next to Alnwick Castle is the amazing Alnwick Gardens. With their large treehouse restaurant, this garden is one of the world’s most extraordinary contemporary gardens. You can purchase a combined ticket and visit both the gardens and the castle in one day.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Cosy house, great location, plenty of information left to look at. Very enjoyable & comfortable stay with lots of things to do and see. Very dog friendly county. Kate & David very welcoming.

Owners were always on hand if we had any questions. Lovely comfortable cottage. No faults. One of the best properties we have stayed in. The location was fantastic. Just a short walk to the coastal path/harbour/village. Great variety of pubs and restaurants. Elan pizzeria particularly good. Bamburgh Castle Inn serves great food. Comfortable and well equipped. Nice little extras. Lovely little cottage very welcoming. Everything for everyone, even the dogs. Near the beach and walk into the centre. Ideal base for sightseeing.

Cockle Cottage is a real home from home, very peaceful and relaxing and very clean with everything you would want. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this cottage. It is a lovely, well looked after property, near shops and takeaways and pubs and of course the sea and stunning beaches.

Excellent property. Perfectly placed for all amenities. Obviously had been given a thorough clean prior to our arrival. Couldn't have wanted more, we would certainly recommend Cockle Cottage. Cockle Cottage is literally 400 metres from the beach. Located in a small cul-de-sac of similar properties.

Immediately you opened the front door it was warm and welcoming, smelt fresh and clean. Furnishings were all to a high standard. Exceeded expectations. Everything worked, and the owners parents are next door in case of emergency. Cottage to a high standard, with lots of facilities nearby. Cockle Cottage provided excellent facilities with lots of eRead morextras you wouldn't expect such as hand wash, washing up liquid, shower gel etc. Welcome gift of wine and quality biscuits. Lots of DVD's, books, outdoor and indoor games to play etc. The beach is a 5 minute walk away, Seahouses is a 10 minute walk along a safe path. Very near local places of interest, castles and houses to view. Without exception every place we visited provided plenty of things for children to do as well as adults. Puzzles, making things, finding things, working things out. This did not detract from our enjoyment as adults. Lovely outside space too. WiFi very useful, not much phone signal for virgin customers. We stayed at Cockle Cottage in Seahouses in the last week of June. The weather was often cold and windy but our accommodation was warm and inviting with every home comfort you could require whilst away from home. We would come back after a long day walking to a centrally heated house with a fabulous shower and unlimited hot water and to sit in the Read morecharming, comfortable living room with beautiful pictures and knick knacks that added a special touch. It is clear Lesley the owner and her parents who live next door really wanted to make our stay special from the welcome gift of wine and biscuits to the personal note on our arrival. We have just spent a week in Cockle Cottage and having stayed in properties around the world, can honestly say that this is the most comfortable and well equipped. The welcome gifts and card were very much appreciated and coming home to a lovely warm house at the end of a busy day was bliss. The house is very comfortable, a real home from home, jusRead moret a pity that the area has so much to offer that we spent a great deal of time exploring and not enough time enjoying the cottage. There's easy access to the wonderful coast path with amazing views in all directions, as well as having places like Alnwick Castle, Chillingham Castle and Paxton House a short drive away. This has been our first visit to the North East but it won't be the last. There's so much more to do that we will have to return. Hide

Very cosy cottage, comfortable and very clean with everything at its place. A good, quiet location to reach many attractions like Bamburgh/Alnwick/Cragside Lindisfarne (Holy Island) and many others . A dishwasher would be helpful. It was a trouble-free booking and transaction.
