Really comfortable cottage and very dog friendly - 2 mins to the beach and coastal path and a great courtyard to the rear. This cottage must have the best view on the Northumbrian coast. You look out over the harbour and then north to bamburgh castle, the farnes and holy island. You can birdwatch from your armchair so bring binoculars. We loved it.Read more Hide

Love this cottage; this is the second visit we have made to it. Very well equipped, with an excellent location wihich gives stunning views over the harbour and Farne Islands. Excellent holiday from beginning to end. You could not find a more suitable rental house in Seahouses with a view to die for. Even nice touches such as a little welcome hamper . Everything is clean and tidy and there is everything you could possibly need. We could not fault the holiday at all. We left two coats in the cupboard under the stairs and Read morethey even sent them back to us. Excellent service. Would definitely return to this beautiful cottage. Hide

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
