A newly renovated for 2020 barn conversation, one of three, set in the heart of the Northumberland countryside with your own private hot tub.

Sitting on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are plenty of tracks to walk, cycle and explore close to home. Sleeping four guests over two bedrooms, this bolthole is great for small families or friends with a love for the great outdoors. A creative mix of traditional, retained features and contemporary style, this converted blacksmith shop is brimming with charm and character, with exposed beams and stonework and original tools. For the perfect sundowner evening, relax in the hot tub and admire the far-reaching verdant views before cosying up by the wood burner.

Step through the arched entrance and find yourself in the kitchen - the heart of the home. Exuding rustic charm with its exposed beams and stone walls, this is a lovely space in which to spend time, whether that be to cook up a storm or sit a while with a mug of tea or coffee. With everything you need to cater for dinner times, stock the elegant cupboards with ingredients and set to work preparing a delicious feast. Plate up at the table and enjoy sociable meals with loved ones before taking a tipple outside to the patio and soaking in the bubbling hot tub. The welcoming lounge is a great place to curl up on chilly evenings or for a lazy afternoon. The large, corner sofa has plenty of room for everyone to get comfortable and is perfectly positioned for flicking through the TV and watching your favourite programmes. Two beautifully decorated bedrooms have doors to outside and are tranquil places in which to drift off. There is off-road parking and an electric car charging point.

Find yourselves in Hadrian’s Wall country and travel 15 miles to the remains of the wall at Cawfields Quarry. From here, walk to The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre (a further 3 miles) and find out where to plan your next adventures. A 10-mile trip will take you to the bustling market town of Hexham where tasty eateries, galleries and independent shops line the streets.

We absolutely loved the cottage, it was so peaceful & cosy. It had everything you could want/need for a holiday. Even though there are other holiday properties in close proximity, they have been well thought-out and very private.

This is a beautiful place to stay, our children loved being on a working farm. The cottage is modern with some lovely traditional features and spotlessly clean. This venue was recommended for a small reunion by my brother who stayed in May. Location great, welcome warm and cottage renovated to a high standard. We loved that many original features and tools from the smithy were retained.

An excellent property in a superb location...handily close to an A-road for ease of access, yet feeling miles away from everywhere. Recently renovated, so all mod cons whilst retaining original features. We loved the underfloor heating as, despite a return to winter temperatures, it was lovely and snug indoors. And the hot-tub was perfect! The owneRead morers were friendly and very helpful, plus introduced us to some newborn lambs, a bonus for holidaying at lambing time. Hide

The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable and a warm welcome was provided by Kirsty. We appreciated the milk, bread, butter eggs, cakes and scones etc which were provided. The cottage is a really interesting conversion of a blacksmith's workshop, retaining many features. Enjoyed the local walks as well as those a bit further afield around AlRead morelendale and Hadrian's Wall. Also enjoyed the dark skies. If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.
