One of four cottages built on the site of a former colliery, just a short walk from the local beaches and beautiful Northumberland coastline.

Perfectly located for enjoying Northumberland’s coast and charming towns and villages. The beach is a short stroll away, while the charming town of Berwick is within two miles. Here you’ll find a selection of independent shops and welcoming eateries wet within the original town walls built in 1588. The town was a favourite of artist LS. Lowry, and with its picturesque bridges and old buildings, it’s not hard to see the appeal. Attractions in the area include Bamburgh, Alnwick and Dunstanburgh castles, pretty little coastal fishing villages and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne which can be reached at low tide via the tidal causeway.

Sleeping four guests across two delightful bedrooms, one double and one twin, the cottage is comfortable and modern. With cosy beds, soft leather sofas and a private courtyard with garden dining furniture from which you can enjoy the vast, open countryside views, it is well set up for your relaxation. The bedrooms share a stylish bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, sink and WC. The kitchen with its sleek design is well-equipped with everything you’ll need to make the most of the wonderful produce which is available in the local area. Featuring a dining table with seating for four, it is open plan with the lounge and offers an electric oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer and microwave.

Outside, a private courtyard looks out over the shared paddock area which has a play area with slide and swings – perfect for the children to burn some energy while the adults watch on with a cool drink! The grassy paddock area is well-suited to outdoor games or picnics in the sunshine.

After choosing the cottage we found it suited our purpose perfectly as the location was within the area we wanted . It was close to the sea but far enough away from the major towns to offer a more rural location. The condition of the cottage was very nice was in a fantastic condition.

Lovely cottage in a good location but there were a number of maintenance/cleanliness issues we needed to report. Unfortunately we were unable to contact the property manager so the matter was dealt with by the holiday company we booked through. It was disappointing that standards had been allowed to slip at an otherwise very nice property.

Overall we enjoyed our stay . The cottage was in a good location for getting out and about. It was clean on arrival .There was a few issues within the cottage that if we had been able to get hold of someone to report them to and get them fixed the holiday would have been perfect .

The cottage was excellently equipped and wonderfully clean. The proximity of the beach was amazing and it was relatively quiet. We were a little shocked as to how near the main road we were but it did not spoil our stay.

Cottage in good location to explore surrounding area, but as it is marketed as 5* it needs some attention to detail. Simple things such as there were only 4 mugs provided. The only consumables provided were 4 dishwasher tablets. Issues with the kettle reported but there was no action to rectify the problem during the stay. If you had the Velux windRead moreow in the bedroom then you are very aware of traffic sounds from A1 Hide
