For film buffs, you may recognise Alnwick’s castle (10 miles) for its starring role in the much-loved Harry Potter films. For wildlife-spotting opportunities, take a boat trip from Seahouses (7.5 miles) to the Farne Islands (home to many seals and puffins) or stay local and wander around the village’s Newton Pool Nature Reserve.

Forget Me Not cottage is beautifully appointed and well equipped. Location is first rate, being literally two minutes walk from the beach and dunes and not much further to the nearest pub, the Joiners Arms, which does terrific food. We stayed during term time, so it was quiet and most other cottages were occupied by older adults. There is a wonderRead moreful playground on site though as well as hens, rabbits, peacocks (yes!) and even young lambs around the property so, as well as the wonderful beaches, plenty to occupy young children during the holidays. Third visit to Link House farm in 2 different properties. Love the location-can walk from the cottage onto the beach. The cottage was spotlessly clean, spacious and cosy when the temperature dropped. Would love to visit again

We would have loved to have stayed longer! A wonderful location, a short walk from the beach. Kids loved the play area and the chance to make new friends. The farm animals were a huge hit and Freddy the turkey will be much missed! Accommodation was warm and comfortable, and very clean.

AMAZING!! Our 2nd visit to Links Farm, a different cottage this time. We love the site and the cottage was amazing - modern, well fitted out. Its ideal right next to the beach - the kids spent hours playing and walking up the beach. Lots of day trips and easy drive to takeaways. Pub a short walk away. Will definitely be back again. Thank you!
