There has been a market in Alnwick for generations and is a showcase for local produce.
The cast and crew of the popular drama series Downton Abbey spent two busy weeks at the castle in July and August 2014, filming in the spectacular State Rooms, as well as in the castle's grounds and at the semi-ruined Hulne Abbey in the Duke of Northumberland's parklands in Alnwick.
This year, visitors to Alnwick Castle can explore a new Downton Abbey exhibition, featuring photography, costumes, and props from the filming.
Throughout the summer, guided walks will take place several times a week in Seahouses and Beadnell, throughout the coastal historical sites of each of the villages. The Seahouses walk is suitable for anybody able to walk approximately two miles. The Beadnell walk goes over sand and rough ground, so if anybody in a scooter or who is uncomfortable walking on such ground is advised to consider its suitability for them.
The North Sea Tall Ships Regatta is heading to Northumberland for the first time. Some of the largest and most spectacular Tall Ships in the world will sail into Blyth. The weekend will be a festival of celebration, with concerts, a sea battle, sporting competitions and a crew parade.
