3 Smugglers Cove, Beadnell

Latest Review :

Mr Christopher D on 08/04/2016

We stayed at 3 Smugglers Cove in Beadnell. The cottage was lovely - clean, modern and cosy. We stayed for 4 nights and there was plenty to do for 2 adults and 3 children (aged 16, 15 and 8). We would definitely recommend walking along the beach at Beadnell Bay (the children loved climbing up and down the sand dunes!), going on a boat trip to the Farne Islands, visiting Alnwick Castle and Gardens. We also went to Edinburgh for the day which is just less than 2 hours drive. We'd recommend meals in the Craster Arms and the fish and chips from the chippy next to the village shop.

1 Beechcroft, Seahouses

Latest Review :

Mrs Jill H on 28/05/2016

1 Beechcroft is well situated for easy access into the centre of Seahouses, all it's amenities & the harbour. There is parking for 2 cars that makes life easier. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean & very comfortable. Easy to get a good night's sleep on comfy beds & pillows & nice bedding with warm quilts. The courtyard garden is secure & pet friendly. Our favourite places to visit are Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle & gardens, Howick Hall. Very easy access to Berwick & the Scottish Borders. Castle in Kelso is lovely with fantastic views over the River Tweed. Alnwick & Morpeth are good for shopping.

Quiet and peaceful location - perfect - as described. Everything that you could need was provided, made our short stay very comfortable. Perfect, hassle free and easy for busy people to book. Clear email communication made planning and short break easy! Cottage was compact and pleasantly decorated. Clean and comfortable. Felt like mini home! Beaches are beautiful - loved low Newton. Cottage location made everything a short drive away. Holy Island to Alnwick different types of places to visit to suit all the family. Castles striking landmarks even without exploring interiors. Book shop at Alnwick with lovely cafe.

Susan G on 27/05/2016

We always enjoy our holiday here. The cottage has the best position in the whole of Northumberland! The cottage itself wants for nothing- beautifully furnished. Meals at The Ship are a must-you always get a warm welcome. Some of our favourite walks are to Football Hole, of course the walk to Craster from Low Newton and along the beach at Sugar Sands to Boulmer stopping for lunch at the pub there. Our two dogs also like a trip to Thrunton Woods which is particularly good if the weather is misty on the coast or cold and showery.

Clean, comfortable, modern, well placed and really well presented cottage. One of the best we've stayed in. Nothing missing - everything thought of. The cottage in Seahouses was beautifully positioned for walking out to the beach, to Bamburgh and Beadnell as well as being just a five minute walk into Seahouses itself. Brilliant if you have a dog. Excellent modern and so cosy to stay in - very quiet area and very relaxing. Lots of info. provided on local things to do. WIFI was very useful and there were modern facilities throughout. Fiona A on 24/05/2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Northumberland and our stay in April Cottage. The owners were very welcoming - the cottage was lovely and cosy, very well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable! The cottage was perfectly placed to visit lots of different places - we especially liked Holy Island, Bamburgh, Alnwick, Alnmouth and Warkworth. We had lovely meals at the Lord Crewe in Bamburgh, Joiners Arms in Newton by the Sea and Bertrams in Warkworth. We also thought the Farm Shop in Belford was good too.

Great position, tasteful decor, easy to clean when we left too, lots of wood floors. Everything clear in instructions and easy to use. The cottage has a perfect position, with a sea view, and view of the nature reserve. The wildlife is our first priority and Low Newton is best spot for this ( no windsurfing/ jet skis etc.). Good pub but give folk night a swerve!

Despite being small the cottage is very well planned out to make the most of the space available. Much better equipped than majority of cottages we've stayed in all around UK over the last 20 years! Belford Townhouse, Bamburgh

Latest Review :

Happy Guests on 30/04/2015

We stayed at Belford Townhouse as a family for a long weekend. We absolutely loved the house and had a fantastic family break. We hadn't been to Belford before but were pleasantly surprised by the local facilities - shop, few pubs, fish and chip shop, nice cafe / farm shop (called Sunnyhills - very good coffee and lunch) with kids play park and small independent shops. It's only a 5 minute drive along the spectacular coastline down to Bamburgh for a great beach, castle and further restaurants and pubs (we recommend the beach directly behind the castle). The location is perfect, not far from anywhere - we went to Holy Island for a day trip which is only 15 mins away. The house has a big entrance hall, (perfect for storing scooters!) with private parking area and a garden which is enclosed and seems to be a sun trap, even at this time of year. The property has been recently renovated and carefully furnished with an eye for detail - the owners had been in touch via email and text before and during our stay to check everything was ok. They had even left fresh eggs from their hens for us to enjoy! We found the house was really well equipped (the kitchen even had cookery books) and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lounge is a grand space and has two large windows seats overlooking the village square. All bedrooms have stunning views from the top floors, and the twin room has a great selection of games and toys for the children.. Great place for hide and seek according to the kids! We will hopefully be coming back for the summer hols or long weekend break, and will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thanks again!

Cottage easy to find. Owners on site also run Guest House East Byermoor. I was travelling alone so good to have owner on site. 2 week stay. Excellent parking. I did not notice any road noise. Very slight when in kitchen but did not disturb me at all and I live in countryside so would have bothered me. The cottage was perfect for me. Good size double bedroom and small single bedroom. Good shower. Warm cottage underfloor heating. Everything was good quality. Open planned kitchen lounge absolutely fine enough room. Very modern touch operated hob easy to use. Fridge with very small freezer but ok for me. Excellent washing machine. Bed soft which I prefer.

Herring House, Seahouses

Latest Review :

Claire B on 22/08/2015

We had a lovely family stay at Herring House in Seahouses. This cottage provided a great base to explore Seahouses and the surrounding area. We were a family of 5 adults (2 x couples and 1 single) and 1 child. Bedrooms were spacious with suitable storage. Although not essential to a holiday, it was nice having access to free WiFi in the cottage. Another bonus was parking for 2 cars. Can recommend a trip to the Farne Islands. We went with Serenity (book by the harbour in Seahouses) on the 1.5hr Grey Seals Cruise and were lucky enough to see a Minke Whale along with seals, purpoises and loads of birds. The commentary was interesting and the crew were happy to answer questions and have a chat. We didn't eat at the Ship Inn in Seahouses but did spend a few evenings enjoying a pint there. Busy, bustling pub with great local ale on draft. Recommend a day at Alnwick Gardens..maybe break it up with lunch at the Treehouse Restaurant. This was our second visit to both and would go back again. Bamburgh Castle is also worth a visit. Park at the free council car park on the main road on the left at the bottom of the castle (you have to pay for the castle car park) and walk up to the castle itself. Buy your tickets for Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Gardens from Seahouses Information Centre for discounts! If you visit other places, check with the Information Centre to see if they offer discounts off those too. The rest of the time we spent on Bamburgh beach which is absolutely gorgeous and definitely rates as one of my favourite places to be. Miles of sandy beach, rock pools and paddles in the sea (weren't brave enough to risk full submersion!)!

For an Autumn break the cottage was very warm. It is in a great location, very private, surrounded by fields but close to the beach and village centre. The interior is a nice balance between traditional and modern. We were pleased with the service and the agent we spoke to managed to change our start date to a Saturday instead of a Friday. I have to work on a Saturday.

I recently stayed at Longsands Lodge with some friends for a post-wedding hen weekend. The lodge was brilliantly located, spacious and well kitted out. Everything we needed for the weekend was there, add in some food and a couple of glasses of prosecco and the best weekend was had by all. Only a short walk from the beach and with great links into the city centre, I'd recommend this lodge. It comfortably held 7 girls and there were no issues with getting ready or showers - which could have been the case with so many ladies in the lodge! The lodge has excellent accommodation, a large kitchen area with all the mod cons and the scones on arrival tasted lovely and kept us going all weekend! Overall, a brilliant venue and a great place to go and stay, lots to do in Tynemouth and early evening walks along the beach are great!

Lovely, clean apartment with all mod cons in place. Quiet location close to the town and the beach. Very comfortably furnished. Great facilities. The kids loved the WiFi connection and it was great to have a dish washer and washing machine. Good value for money and well equipped. The customer adviser was well informed and really helpful in finding us a cottage. Panhaven is a well proportioned maisonette in a great location in Amble. We had a dog and 2 children with us and the area was fantastic for being outdoors. We drove to Warkworth and Alnwick for some local sight seeing and the huge beach at Alnmouth. The local beach at Amble was a very short walk from Panhaven as was the town which has a lovely harbour area. Great weekend break and will definitely re visit.
