Everything was just perfect, resulting in a super holiday. Initially, I had a problem with connecting to the wifi and was pleasantly surprised that someone from Cottages in Northumberland contacted me so quickly. What a friendly and pleasant company! 1, Bamburgh Gate is a sweet little cottage situated in a quiet area, surrounded by farmland. It is the perfect antidote to hectic and stressful lives. Just a short distance to historic Bamburgh Castle and the amazing Alnwick Castle with its magical tree house - a must see for adults and children. A truly amazing week. Been home less than a day and have already recommended this cottage/area to several friends and family.

A well presented cottage with a secure courtyard ,situated a short walk from the two local restaurants, both offering a wide variety of local produce on their menus. Also a short walk from the local shop and popular chip shop. The walk across the beautiful sandy beach to seahouses is a must, as is the sands of beadnall bay. Mr George Porter on 03/07/2015

Beautiful grade II listed cottage, sympatheticly modernised. Lovely cottage style garden, very private and well stocked with garden furniture. Owners very kind and helpful. Explained the cottage well, offered any assistance we might need and left the cottage well stocked. Although owners live in next door cottage they were not intrusive but we knew we could get them if required. Lots to see and do, both country and seaside on doorstep. Plenty of good eating restaurants and pubs (Beehive was great, good beer garden and dogs allowed which suited us). We would certainly return should we be in area.

Breakwater Cottage, Seahouses

Latest Review :

Ali W on 14/08/2015

We enjoyed our stay at Breakwater which is a very comfortable, well equipped house and only a short walk from a great choice of places to eat. Our teenage sons certainly appreciated having wifi and the large screen tv! We were chuffed with the welcome pack which was a very nice gesture and got the holiday off to a great start. Having never been to Northumberland, we were bowled over by the county, it really is an area of outstanding natural beauty and we shall definitely return. Highlights include both Alnwick and Bamburgh Castles - proper castles with turrets and flags!! If you're a Harry Potter fan then try the Broomstick training at Alnwick! Absolutely loved Barter Book Shop in Alnwick which is a cross between a library, bookshop and cafe! A lovely place to potter! The walk along the coast to Bamburgh Castle from Seahouses and also from Craster to Dunstanburgh. The Jolly Fisherman at Craster for lunch is also recommended!

We fell in love with Northumberland and can't wait to return. Coquet Cottage is situated close to Amble harbour with parking outside. There are two generous sized double bedrooms and a small single. It was very handy to have a washer dryer as we stayed for two weeks. I highly recommend the wonderful beaches in the surrounding area. Drurridge Bay, Warkworth, Alnmouth etc. A trip on the boat to Coquet Island is not to be missed especially in the puffin season. One thing is for sure, you will not be at a loss for things to do. Northumberland has everything to offer, clean fresh air, stunning scenery, good honest food and for our stay Sunshine! I think you are providing a good service and your website is good and user friendly.

This is a very good property for a larger group of people. One of our guests uses a walking stick and Seahouses was chosen for accessibility as it is on the flat and has plenty to do. This property provides you with all the basics and has a good standard of cleanliness though the ornaments and accessories are a little dated. Good laundry facilities, the outside space is lovely and the extra living space that the conservatory provides makes this an excellent cottage to rent all year round. I would recommend you. The service provided was very professional.

Farne View, Seahouses

Alison Lilburn on 07/11/2014

Farne View is light, warm, comfortable, nicely furnished and good location. Farne View was one of the best cottages we have stayed in - and we stay in a lot! It was light, bright and comfortable and we loved the view - watching the tides and the waves coming in along the coastline up to Bamburgh. Although Seahouses is relatively small it has eating places, cash points and a local co-op so you don't have to venture far for your everyday needs. We loved the walk along the beach to Bamburgh. We stopped at the Grace Darling museum and a coffee shop before the return journey along the road. We were also lucky enough to arrange a short trip to the Farne Islands to see the seals in abundance before the weather changed. Also had visits to Alnwick, Holy Island and Berwick. Unfortunately we were too late in the year for admission/midweek admissions to the castles in the area but that's just something to save for next time!

Herring House, Seahouses

Claire B on 22/08/2015

We had a lovely family stay at Herring House in Seahouses. This cottage provided a great base to explore Seahouses and the surrounding area. We were a family of 5 adults (2 x couples and 1 single) and 1 child. Bedrooms were spacious with suitable storage. Although not essential to a holiday, it was nice having access to free WiFi in the cottage. Another bonus was parking for 2 cars. Can recommend a trip to the Farne Islands. We went with Serenity (book by the harbour in Seahouses) on the 1.5hr Grey Seals Cruise and were lucky enough to see a Minke Whale along with seals, purpoises and loads of birds. The commentary was interesting and the crew were happy to answer questions and have a chat. We didn't eat at the Ship Inn in Seahouses but did spend a few evenings enjoying a pint there. Busy, bustling pub with great local ale on draft. Recommend a day at Alnwick Gardens..maybe break it up with lunch at the Treehouse Restaurant. This was our second visit to both and would go back again. Bamburgh Castle is also worth a visit. Park at the free council car park on the main road on the left at the bottom of the castle (you have to pay for the castle car park) and walk up to the castle itself. Buy your tickets for Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Gardens from Seahouses Information Centre for discounts! If you visit other places, check with the Information Centre to see if they offer discounts off those too. The rest of the time we spent on Bamburgh beach which is absolutely gorgeous and definitely rates as one of my favourite places to be. Miles of sandy beach, rock pools and paddles in the sea (weren't brave enough to risk full submersion!)!

Levante Cottage in Beadnell is a cosy, welcoming cottage in a superb spot just yards from the beach and harbour. The downstairs accommodation is well set out with plenty of room for 6 people to eat and relax. We enjoyed our stay and would consider going back to the cottage at another time of the year to enjoy the beautiful walks and beaches.

Little Flores Cottage is a lovely small cottage for a couple with a dog. The car parking permit was very useful indeed. The beaches from Bamburgh to Alnmouth are beautiful and all dog friendly; our particular favourite is Beadnell Beach. The walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle is highly recommended. Would also recommend a visit to Alnwick.

It is a beautiful cottage perfectly situated for Bamburgh and the surrounding areas. We thoroughly enjoyed walking along the beach from Bamburgh to Seahouses; visiting a number of castles, notably Bamburgh, Alnwick Castle and gardens, as well as walking the coastal path and some of St Oswald's Way, taking in Dunstanburgh Castle along the way. We were then glad to get back to the cottage to rest for the evening, ready for more activities on the following day.

We will definitely book again when next visiting the area.

We have stayed in Bamburgh and surrounding area on a number of occasions and love the walks along the quiet beaches. This was our first stay at Budle Bay and we have to say the beach at this side of Bamburgh is a hidden gem - with very few people and fabulous views. The cottage was an added bonus to this beautiful spot with everything we could need - including lots of books and games to keep everyone entertained! Would definitely stay again. A visit to the castle is a must as well as a trip on a boat to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and the seals. We also had a drive to Warkworth and Alnmouth both lovely villages and well worth a visit. Also finding such a nice cottage that is also dog friendly is a real bonus!

Great little holiday cottage in a fantastic location for all things Northumberland. The wood burner made it cosy even on a freezing late December night and to walk out of the door straight into the silent countryside was just fantastic for seeing the incredible clear night skies. Well-equipped (although a shower or shower attachment would be useful) but the bath is deep and big, lovely. There's no phone signal but there's free Wifi if you don't want to be entirely cut off from the world.
