Very happy, bedding and linen were modern and bedroom furniture was lovely, very helpful to find washing up liquid, soap, rubber gloves etc as you don't want to bring these things or have to go an buy them. Many thanks. Super property in the heart of the village, added benefit of parking and small courtyard garden. Great location. Bars and restaurants all very child/dog friendly. We will come back to this area again.

Ian K on 23/07/2016

The cottage accorded with the description and our expectations The laundering of the duvet cover was disappointing, otherwise the cleanliness was excellent. The facilities were good . The provision of 2 large scale O.S. maps was very useful. We enjoy holidays in Northumberland , an area which is perhaps not often considered by families from the midlands or further south. This may be due to the distance, however we drove home to Leicester in exactly 4 hours.

Georgina H on 02/07/2016

Very spacious and well presented. Cottage was spotless. Had everything we needed for our stay. Would love to return again and would definitely recommend to family and friends. This cottage was spacious and clean and had everything you would need for a weeks stay. The toaster would not work so I called the office and a replacement was brought to us in less than 15 minutes; excellent service. We were impressed with the property which was spacious and contained everything we needed for our week in Seahouses. The property was very clean and well maintained. Whilst we were there the toaster did not work, we phoned and we received a replacement within 15 minutes of our call (excellent service). I would however suggest taking off the picture from the site of what I misconstrued as a potential welcome pack which we did not receive. I would however this did not spoil our holiday.

Love the split-level bedroom/living space and floor to ceiling windows down one side with lovely views. Nice to find a dog friendly cottage - I have many friends with dogs! The cottage is ideal for two people (and dogs!) - very imaginatively laid out with a lovely view over fields (ideal wildlife/bird watching from the garden). 10 min drive from Bamburgh with its fantastic beach and castle.

We always enjoy our holiday here. The cottage has the best position in the whole of Northumberland! The cottage itself wants for nothing- beautifully furnished. Meals at The Ship are a must-you always get a warm welcome. Some of our favourite walks are to Football Hole, of course the walk to Craster from Low Newton and along the beach at Sugar Sands to Boulmer stopping for lunch at the pub there. Our two dogs also like a trip to Thrunton Woods which is particularly good if the weather is misty on the coast or cold and showery.

This cottage for 2 was a great find for us. It was so easy to find - just off the A1 and so near to Bamburgh! In fact, it is so near to all the places of interest. The cottage was so welcoming - so easy to relax here. So well presented with a beautiful view from the 2 patio doors! Shower room was really good - the shower was very powerful. Everything you need here for a good stay. Would recommend the Castle Inn at Bamburgh for your meals! Needless to say we had it all here. Would recommend this cottage to any couple - you will not be disappointed.

Clean, comfortable, modern, well placed and really well presented cottage. One of the best we've stayed in. Nothing missing - everything thought of. The cottage in Seahouses was beautifully positioned for walking out to the beach, to Bamburgh and Beadnell as well as being just a five minute walk into Seahouses itself. Brilliant if you have a dog. Excellent modern and so cosy to stay in - very quiet area and very relaxing. Lots of info. provided on local things to do. WIFI was very useful and there were modern facilities throughout. Belford Townhouse, Bamburgh

Latest Review :

Happy Guests on 30/04/2015

We stayed at Belford Townhouse as a family for a long weekend. We absolutely loved the house and had a fantastic family break. We hadn't been to Belford before but were pleasantly surprised by the local facilities - shop, few pubs, fish and chip shop, nice cafe / farm shop (called Sunnyhills - very good coffee and lunch) with kids play park and small independent shops. It's only a 5 minute drive along the spectacular coastline down to Bamburgh for a great beach, castle and further restaurants and pubs (we recommend the beach directly behind the castle). The location is perfect, not far from anywhere - we went to Holy Island for a day trip which is only 15 mins away. The house has a big entrance hall, (perfect for storing scooters!) with private parking area and a garden which is enclosed and seems to be a sun trap, even at this time of year. The property has been recently renovated and carefully furnished with an eye for detail - the owners had been in touch via email and text before and during our stay to check everything was ok. They had even left fresh eggs from their hens for us to enjoy! We found the house was really well equipped (the kitchen even had cookery books) and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lounge is a grand space and has two large windows seats overlooking the village square. All bedrooms have stunning views from the top floors, and the twin room has a great selection of games and toys for the children.. Great place for hide and seek according to the kids! We will hopefully be coming back for the summer hols or long weekend break, and will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thanks again!

Bradacar is a comfortable, well equipped cottage in a good location, and has great views across the bay from the bedroom window. It is not far from the centre of Seahouses from where you can take a trip to the Farne Islands to see the breeding colonies of many sea birds. Do wear a hat though, preferably padded; Arctic Terns are very aggressive when protecting their young!! Bamburgh Castle and the Copper Kettle Tea are just a few miles away and the Craster Arms in Beadnell is also worth a visit.

Penny M on 02/07/2016

Castle View exceeded expectations as the views were much better than pictured on the website. The caretaker was really helpful and knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great tips about places to visit. We would definitely visit again, there is so much to see in the area that we did not have enough time to cover it all. The vouchers provided with the booking came in very useful and it was great having them all in one place so it was easy to organise and plan. The beaches are beautiful, the whole area feels undiscovered in the sense that places aren't too overcrowded. There are so many castles and historic attractions, one of them being Cragside which you could visit again and again as the grounds are so vast and beautiful. The Tree-house Restaurant at Alnwick Gardens is magical and the food is delicious. The people of Northumberland are so friendly and welcoming, we had a great time and hope to return in the near future!

We found the cottage down a quiet lane in a valley just off the A1. From the cottage you have amazing views over the Cheviots. With close access to the A1 you are not many minutes away from the big attractions of Northumbria including Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Seahouses and the Farne Islands. Its also fairly easy to get up into the Scottish borders and down to the Hadrian's wall attractions. Very well placed. Inside, the cottage is really comfy and homely and has everything you could ever need including washing machine and dishwasher, good shower and the best bit was the wood burner which we used a fair bit as it was chilly in the evenings most days. All in all the cottage was spot on in terms of location in Northumbria and its standard.

Very peaceful setting but close to main routes around the county. The living area is deceptively spacious but very cosy. The whole cottage has a relaxing feel to it.The bedroom and en suite are very sumptuous and there are lovely pieces of glass art dotted round the cottage made by the owner. It was a complete treat. Just as expected from website, spotless. Very close to harbour and shops but a quiet cottage. Plenty places to eat out or takeaways. Enjoyed many walls on beautiful beaches. Great castles to see. Quiet time of year for those that avoid crowds. Great place for dogs.

Lovely cottage with beautiful views, well equipped, very clean and nicely decorated. Harbourside Cottage at Craster was excellent and the view from the cottage is outstanding. The area had lots to do for all ages. We loved Alnwick gardens and the walk along to Dunstanborough castle. A week is not long enough to fit everything in. Graveside and Wallington are well worth a visit. Looking forward to our next visit.

Heron's Beck, Druridge Bay

Latest Review :

Joanna M on 23/07/2016

Our week's stay at Heron's Beck was just superb. A beautiful property perfectly located for exploring the area both on foot, thanks to the fantastic network of footpaths, and by car to the myriad of diverse places of interest. Our party ranged in age from 17 to 85 and everyone had one of the best UK holidays we have ever experienced. A walk to the stunning Druridge Bay beach at sunset is just magical. The landing trip to the Farne Islands with seals, puffins, terns, kittiwakes and so many more should be a must as should the peace and tranquility of Lindisfarne when it is cut off from the mainland. Howick gardens, Bamburgh Castle and even dolphins in Caster Bay. We will most definitely be back thanks to the service, quality and location of the great property. Wish we could keep it as our secret! One of the best stays in the UK we have had out of very, very many.

Herring House, Seahouses

Latest Review :

Claire B on 22/08/2015

We had a lovely family stay at Herring House in Seahouses. This cottage provided a great base to explore Seahouses and the surrounding area. We were a family of 5 adults (2 x couples and 1 single) and 1 child. Bedrooms were spacious with suitable storage. Although not essential to a holiday, it was nice having access to free WiFi in the cottage. Another bonus was parking for 2 cars. Can recommend a trip to the Farne Islands. We went with Serenity (book by the harbour in Seahouses) on the 1.5hr Grey Seals Cruise and were lucky enough to see a Minke Whale along with seals, purpoises and loads of birds. The commentary was interesting and the crew were happy to answer questions and have a chat. We didn't eat at the Ship Inn in Seahouses but did spend a few evenings enjoying a pint there. Busy, bustling pub with great local ale on draft. Recommend a day at Alnwick Gardens..maybe break it up with lunch at the Treehouse Restaurant. This was our second visit to both and would go back again. Bamburgh Castle is also worth a visit. Park at the free council car park on the main road on the left at the bottom of the castle (you have to pay for the castle car park) and walk up to the castle itself. Buy your tickets for Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Gardens from Seahouses Information Centre for discounts! If you visit other places, check with the Information Centre to see if they offer discounts off those too. The rest of the time we spent on Bamburgh beach which is absolutely gorgeous and definitely rates as one of my favourite places to be. Miles of sandy beach, rock pools and paddles in the sea (weren't brave enough to risk full submersion!)!

We picked Seahouses so we could have a relaxing stay with local attractions and was not disappointed with choosing Cottages In Northumberland. Customer service was very responsive and first rate. The apartment was a lot larger than expected, very clean and well presented. We spent most of the time out but would have happily enjoyed more time in the apartment and meals in as everything we could have needed was provided. We might return next year, if we do we would be more than happy to stay at the same apartment.

Superb Cottage in an excellent location close to all that Seahouses has to offer, spotless and cosy accommodation. The Cottage is ideal for couples with a great location near the harbour in Seahouses. Boat trips to Farne Islands and fresh kippers less than 50 yards away!. Castles galore to visit along an unspoiled coast which has such great beaches. Ideal location for trips out to local attractions but many things to do within easy walking distance. Lindisfarne View is in an excellent location within Seahouses; it is a very well thought-out conversion, equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. The view over the harbour to the Farne Islands is spectacular and ever-changing. It's useful to have the garage so the car can be parked 'off-road' and out of the way. Recommendations: A trip on the 'Golden Gate' to Longstone Lighthouse; Alnwick Castle & Gardens; Berwick on Tweed; The Olde Ship (for good beer, good food and an excellent atmosphere; a walk across the sand (& rocks) to Bamburgh Castle; Indian restaurant - good food and lots for your money; The Pinnacles for fish and chips.

The smoke house next door serves a range of excellent fresh products including dressed crab, all reasonably priced. Don't be put off by being at the side of the smoke house it doesn't smell and isn't noisy. Nice compact and enclosed front garden with seating provided and parking available. Cliff top walks and a number of beaches available within minutes and would recommend a walk to Beadnell and Bamburgh as a must if not and don't want to drive local buses readily available and on time. Lastly plenty of well stocked local shops including an excellent greengrocer and bakery, Lewis fish and chip is a must and the various pizza houses are definitely worth a try overall an excellent holiday in a beautiful part of the country

We travelled as a family of 3, my daughter 13 and my husband. The cottage is exceptionally clean and has a home from home feeling. The beds are comfortable which is a big bonus for me, so we slept really well. The kitchen is very well equipped the only thing i looked for and didn't find was a garlic press! There's a lovely seating area out back which catches the sun through the day if you shuffle your chair around, and a BBQ for use. Its on a quiet road, a very short walk away from the beach where you can walk for miles and miles. we took our red setter & he loved his big walks along the beach. The cottage is a good 10 minute stroll from the centre of Amble, but its a lovely stroll along the pier. We had everything we needed to hand, hardly used the car & the weather was very kind to us which always adds to your enjoyment when away in the UK. The David Gray puffin cruise was a lot of fun, you must book though as he gets very busy. We are actually a family of 4 but my son is away but when he returns we will come back & stay in the bigger adjoining cottage -Panhaven. Very impressed, probably one of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed in, directions to the cottage were great & as we arrived we had wine, milk in the fridge and a cake, oh and lots of fresh flowers in the house too.

I recently stayed at Longsands Lodge with some friends for a post-wedding hen weekend. The lodge was brilliantly located, spacious and well kitted out. Everything we needed for the weekend was there, add in some food and a couple of glasses of prosecco and the best weekend was had by all. Only a short walk from the beach and with great links into the city centre, I'd recommend this lodge. It comfortably held 7 girls and there were no issues with getting ready or showers - which could have been the case with so many ladies in the lodge! The lodge has excellent accommodation, a large kitchen area with all the mod cons and the scones on arrival tasted lovely and kept us going all weekend! Overall, a brilliant venue and a great place to go and stay, lots to do in Tynemouth and early evening walks along the beach are great!

It's a comfy cottage that has been lovingly furnished and decorated. It is also a rather quiet and sunny place and Maccine gave us a very warm welcome. We were very satisfied and felt at home in this cottage and your kind services for us are highly appreciated :) The cottage first reminded me a bit of "Wuthering Heights" as it is located on top of a hill where you have lovely sights on many sides. It is lovingly furnished and decorated and equipped with everything you will need. There's a big Tesco in Annfield Plain (just a few miles down the road) and a nice, little village -Lancaster- just down the hill where you will find restaurants, a post office, a cafe, etc. Durham with its famous cathedral and castle are not too far. You can explore famous sites such as Berwick-upon-Tweed, the Holy Island Lindisfarne and the ancient royal seat of Anglo-Saxon Northumbria Bamburgh Castle and of course Alnwick Castle, the seat of the Percy family (dukes of Northumberland). All these attractions are "lined up" at the A1 motorway. A must is for me also Hadrian's Wall and its excellent Roman forts and museums. All this may be reached from this lovely cottage. If you are a lover of historical sites there is a plenty of attractions and if you like walking, you will find an awesome nature.

We stayed at Rose Cottage in Beadnell for one week in July 2016. We found the cottage to be extremely welcoming with everything included to make our stay enjoyable. All furnishings were of very high quality. The cottage is centrally situated within the village, next door to the fabulous Craster Arms - their weekend music festival is a must if you happen to be in town at the right time and their food is divine!! The Towers is on the other side and they have a very comfortable bar with quiz night. The cottage is a two minute walk from the children's play park and a five minute walk from the gorgeous Beadnell Bay beach - we spent most evenings on the beach tiring out the dog! The village shop has everything you need to stock up but Seahouses is just a short drive away offering a co-op and lots of other shops for browsing round and the harbour is great for boat and fishing trips. We'll definitely be back to Rose Cottage in the future.

The flat had very good facilities for everything. The location was wonderful with very easy access to the beach and attractions as well as shops. There was everything you could wish for. Children were really well catered for as well as adults, you could just look out of the double doors and be transported to a fantastic place. There are plenty of places to get a variety of food to eat out,or to do shopping and cook at the flat. There is even a great pint to be had for dad if he likes real ales, in the oldest pub in Seahouses, named "The Ship Inn". Oh and they do fantastic food. Great holiday. Visited Bamburgh Castle and too many other places that were in easy reach to mention. A must is the Farne Islands with the seals, puffins and all the other birds. Don't forget your hat if you do go there as the birds really like peck your head. Thank you again Aimee.

Well presented and great location for Seahouses. Still had the quaintness'. Was spotless. Liked the details of foil in oven, kitchen roll and basic household necessities. A home from home, a very well presented cottage that is ideally located.

Sundial Cottage, Amble

Latest Review :

Andrina V on 16/07/2016

Super location, homely feel, every need catered for. Sundial Cottage looks out on the harbour square, marina and over to Warkworth Castle. It is within two minutes walk of a supermarket, a superb fish restaurant, a memorable ice-cream parlour, a 'chippy', a good Chinese takeaway, and a new shopping experience - 'craft and accessories' retail pods. We found the Sunday Market a good introduction to Amble, and a leaflet at the cottage, which shows two local walks, led to the harbour walk being a daily constitutional. Outside Amble we visited Alnwick Castle and Gardens and Barter Books in Alnwick, a place of pilgrimage for any reader. Bamburgh Castle, Warkworth Castle and Lindisfarne Castle are all different and worth a visit. The Grace Darling Museum and the Copper Kettle in Bamburgh, the Old Smokehouse restaurant in Craster and Lindisfarne Abbey are also on our "to-do-again" list. We are looking forward to staying in Sundial Cottage again soon.

Sweet Melody Cottage, Northumberland National Park Area

Latest Review :

Tom P on 30/06/2016

Had great week in Northumberland from sweet melody cottage in the village of Longframlington.. We were welcomed on arrival by the owners with a few goodies of wine milk butter etc for our stay. Nice touch and Much appreciated. Cottage very clean and well appointed for all the village amenities. I'm sure if visiting when cold the log burner in the lounge would be a real treat. Garden a sun trap at certain times of day and can relax there with the furniture etc that's provided.. Kitchen and bathroom comfortable to use. Bed was again comfortable.. Could see that traffic noise may be problem for some but can't say it bothered us unduly and wouldn't stop us returning to sweet melody cottage. Thanks to the lovely owners for providing us with all we needed for a great stay in Northumberland.

The Deeps Cottage is spacious, well equipped and beautiful surroundings. Good size, well equipped, lovely peaceful surroundings. Relatively clean but depends on your own standards. Plenty of storage in bedrooms, kitchen, cloakroom brilliant especially with a dog and would be needed if weather wet. Blanchland also beautiful, friendly and excellent provision for visitors. Plenty walks near by including Derwent Reservoir. Stanhope well worth a visit and not too far by car with historical interest and more walks. Plenty places to visit.

First class accommodation, spotlessly clean. All appliances and cutlery provided including towels and linen. Beautiful area that was so quiet and relaxing yet within walking distance of local amenities and attractions. Surrounded by outstanding country side and lovely locals. Highly recommend this property for de-stressing and relaxing but if you want to remain active you can with Tennis in nearby Hexham and Golf and many attractions, especially Kielder, to keep you busy. Private and perfect for two people.

Carmel R on 24/07/2016

Beautiful, new house with lots of space and well designed & fitted out. Everything we needed was there. We loved the open plan living space and also the patio. We were delighted with the wifi, utility room with washer & dryer. A small thing but very welcome, was the fact that the cottage was supplied with clothes pegs, bin bags etc, tea, coffee and even a pint of milk for our arrival! If I was in the area I would certainly consider your cottages. Our family (2 adults & 4 children aged 7-12) loved the Piggery. The layout and facilities of the cottage were excellent. Our children enjoyed exploring the surrounding fields in their down time. As a family we visited & really enjoyed: Discovery Science museum, the Baltic Art gallery (playground exhibition) , Alnwick Castle, Beamish, and walking along the quays in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Wagtail Cottage, Rothbury, Northumberland

Latest Review :

Catharine F on 27/05/2016

There was everything we required from the seating, eating area, kitchen was excellently equipped and the bedroom comfortable as was the bed. All was very clean cannot fault anything, all the facilities were excellent as previously stated. Wagtail Cottage is a lovely cottage for 2 people. The complex the cottage is in is well set out and the parking easily accessed. The only downside we found was that it was very rural, not too much of a problem except the road into Thropton was full of potholes, after Thropton the road was a little better into Rothbury. A must see visit is Cragside( National Trust), wonderful setting, beautiful gardens, lakes and woodland. The house itself was very interesting and the history behind Lord Armstrong and his invention of hydro-electricity used in the house, the first of its kind. There is an interesting exhibition of the life and work of Lord Armstrong, just by the tea room. Food tasty as well. From the cottage we visited Alnwick Castle and Garden - well worth a visit, wonderfully designed gardens and water feature. Castle also fascinating along with the history. Lindisfarne is another place to visit and there are too many castles to mention, but if you like castles and the history behind there existence then Northumberland is the place to go!

The cottage is pretty and picturesque with a beautiful view of the ocean from the living room. It is quiet despite being near a local pub. The cottage has WiFi, TVs, a dishwasher and washing m/c. There is a local store a few yards away. Dunstanberg Castle is a short walk away and is well worth a visit. It is also a short walk to the ocean where the beaches are beautiful. There is a good golf course half a mile away. Alnwick is 15 mins drive and has more shops and other attractions like a castle and famous gardens. Further up the coast is Bamburgh castle which is very impressive. The coastline is fantastic for walking and the sea air is definitely invigorating!

It was exactly as described on the internet. The cottage exceeded our expectations and the location was perfect, close to everything in Seahouses, Bamburgh castle was excellent value and the cream tea was superb, the beaches in this area have to be seen to be believed, the locals are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet, "our local" on this trip was the ship inn, the food and drink was excellent. Most definitely would recommend you, and already have, think we will be back soon.

Gail M on 16/07/2016

It is a lovely house with an outstanding garden. Pretty much everything we needed was provided, and it was a bonus to have Wi-Fi and a NOW box. Whitsun View is a comfortable, roomy cottage in very quiet surroundings but within a minute's walk of Wooler High Street. The garden is outstanding, with views of the hills and a secluded barbecue area. The owners also give permission to pick from their fruit & veg patch, so we had a supply of fresh strawberries! If you enjoy walking and / or history Wooler is the perfect base to explore the Cheviots and surrounding foothills and hill forts. The Milan Italian restaurant also does great food at very reasonable prices. We will definitely return to Whitsun View.
