3 Smugglers Cove, Beadnell

Latest Review :

Paul Wakefield on 11/07/2015

A lovely comfortable cottage only a 5 minute walk from a sandy beach. As a family we visited several castle, did plenty of walks along beautiful beaches and the children enjoyed looking in rock pools. Spent a lovely day at Alnwick Castle and gardens, a lovely day on Lindisfarne and a boat trip round the Farne islands. Can recommend Lewis fish and chips in Seahouses, the Spice House also in Seahouses and the Craster Arms only a stones throw away from the cottage. All of these serve delicious food at reasonable prices. Overall a lovely holiday enjoyed by all of us and our dog.

Daniel Wilkinson on 05/06/2015

We loved the cottage, decorated beautifully with attention to detail. The garden and views are amazing and very relaxing, we loved watching the cows and wildlife out of the window. The location was great and within driving distance from most of Northumberland's main attractions. The owners obviously put a lot of work into making the cottage such a lovely place to stay and we would love to comeback in the future. We will no doubt be recommending to family and friends.

Cottage tastefully decorated with all amenities met, very clean and well maintained. A well presented cottage with a secure courtyard ,situated a short walk from the two local restaurants, both offering a wide variety of local produce on their menus. Also a short walk from the local shop and popular chip shop. The walk across the beautiful sandy beach to seahouses is a must, as is the sands of beadnall bay. Nicely situated for a lot of historical attractions in the Northumbrian area

Mr George Porter on 03/07/2015

Beautiful grade II listed cottage, sympatheticly modernised. Lovely cottage style garden, very private and well stocked with garden furniture. Owners very kind and helpful. Explained the cottage well, offered any assistance we might need and left the cottage well stocked. Although owners live in next door cottage they were not intrusive but we knew we could get them if required. Lots to see and do, both country and seaside on doorstep. Plenty of good eating restaurants and pubs (Beehive was great, good beer garden and dogs allowed which suited us). We would certainly return should we be in area.

April Cottage, Beadnell

Latest Review :

Liz Hickson on 11/07/2015

April cottage was perfect for us, we were a party of 6, two couples and two elderly, the ground floor bathroom and bedrooms made things easier for the elderly. It was spacious enough for everyone to relax without being on top of each other, didn't have far to walk to the amenities. The enclosed garden areas were excellent as we also had a dog with us. The dining room was lovely for us to get together for a meal. Everyone really enjoyed their stay. We were varying in age from 26-78.

April cottage was beautiful very well appointed and beautifully situated. The cottage has two bathrooms and three toilets and this is perfect for families. The addition of the games room is very thoughtful and also the smart TV. We always say why spend your precious holiday time in a place that's not as comfortable as your own home and April cottage certainly has all the necessary home comforts you need. The view across to Lindisfarne is magical. All in all a perfect getaway spot!

Abi Howell on 02/08/2014

We had an amazing week in Farne Retreat. We were so fortunate with the weather so spent the majority of our time out and about exploring. Visited Alnwick gardens and lunched in the treehouse - amazing! Spent an evening at the beach in Embleton watching the sunset - gorgeous. Visited the surrounding beaches and castles and went on an evening boat trip to the Farne Islands. Our final day we spent at Lindisfarne which was great even in the rain! The cottage itself was lovely and relaxing to be in in the evenings. Many thanks for a superb break away!

Farne View, Seahouses

Latest Review :

Alison Lilburn on 07/11/2014

Farne View is light, warm, comfortable, nicely furnished and good location. Farne View was one of the best cottages we have stayed in - and we stay in a lot! It was light, bright and comfortable and we loved the view - watching the tides and the waves coming in along the coastline up to Bamburgh. Although Seahouses is relatively small it has eating places, cash points and a local co-op so you don't have to venture far for your everyday needs. We loved the walk along the beach to Bamburgh. We stopped at the Grace Darling museum and a coffee shop before the return journey along the road. We were also lucky enough to arrange a short trip to the Farne Islands to see the seals in abundance before the weather changed. Also had visits to Alnwick, Holy Island and Berwick. Unfortunately we were too late in the year for admission/midweek admissions to the castles in the area but that's just something to save for next time!

The apartment was well placed near to the centre of Newcastle and not far from the quay. It was easy to get to and benefited from its own private parking which made unloading/loading easy. It was very clean and very well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the area quiet so we slept well. The owner left a welcome food basket which included a bottle of wine! We will definitely book again when next visiting the area.

Great little holiday cottage in a fantastic location for all things Northumberland. The wood burner made it cosy even on a freezing late December night and to walk out of the door straight into the silent countryside was just fantastic for seeing the incredible clear night skies. Well-equipped (although a shower or shower attachment would be useful) but the bath is deep and big, lovely. There's no phone signal but there's free Wifi if you don't want to be entirely cut off from the world.

Peaceful and well equipped. We stayed for a week in this lovely cottage which had everything we needed. It was in a small complex of rented cottages but was situated in the heart of the country. Bamburgh was only a few minutes drive away so we had the tranquility of the countryside together with the dramatic coast of Northumberland. Highly recommended.

Malcolm Shaw on 11/04/2015

Seashells Cottage is a lovely 4-bed roomed cottage in Beadnell, only 5 minutes walk from the beach and the local shop. It has plenty of space with a lounge with two large sofas, as well as a good-sized conservatory which also has two large sofas and a 2nd TV. It also has a lovely paved area with table and benches outside for the good weather days. With two bathrooms - one on each floor - it was very comfortable for us to accommodate our family members, especially with a baby (cot and high chair provided). Would recommend without reservation - easy to book and based on this cottage, happy to recommend the quality of service.

There was everything in the cottage that we could possibly have needed during our stay.We have had a wonderful experience for our first time in a 'cottages in Northumberland ' cottage and believe we will be back and will certainly recommend it! We stayed for a week in St. Cuthbert's Cottage and enjoyed it immensely. Having the living space upstairs was fantastic for the views and sunsets. The cottage location was so convenient too being within strolling distance of the town centre and next to the harbour. The trip to the the Farne Islands was well worth it along with the amazing beaches and coast line all along the Northumberland Coast. My family are looking forward to going back!

The Deeps is a perfect location for a peaceful and relaxing break, yet is close to many tourist attractions. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Our group varied in age range but the facilities met all our needs. Our dogs were in puppy heaven with the freedom to play in the adjoining field and we could relax knowing it was safely enclosed. The access to the woods was also greatly enjoyed. We had a lovely meal at the nearby Lord Crewe Arms and in another couple of pubs within a 20 min drive. We would definitely love to return and would wholeheartedly recommend the cottage.

Great cottage and location, nice people to deal with. Great location for travelling in the area. Parking was conveniently at the door.Cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed and the welcome goodies were an added bonus. The rooms are spacious and airy with lots of finishing touches that really make it feel homely. It was clean and very comfortable. We were able to light the fantastic wood burner and can guarantee it took the chill off of the gale force weather outside. The village of Belford has a Co-Op, newsagent, farm shop and few unique shops. We visited Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick, Morpeth and even got a trip to Edinburgh in before we had to leave. This truly is a beautiful area and we'll definitely be back to stay at The Lodge.
