There is a fully equipped, modern kitchen with a dining/family room which includes a TV and sofa so you have plenty of facilities to keep everyone happy. Upstairs, to the front, the spacious master king-size bedroom has an an en-suite bathroom and features wide, French doors which open out onto the balcony and overlooks the garden and lovely countryside beyond.  The second bedroom is a twin-bedded room which also has its own en-suite shower room.
The Annex is just a ten-minute walk along the valley road to the village of Rothbury and all the amenities it has to offer.  Known locally as the ‘Capital of Coquetdale’, Rothbury is the 'springboard' to the Northumberland National Park. The Simonside Hills are within easy reach and cyclists and walkers will love all the different trails in the area. Rothbury village offers a great range of independent shops, galleries, craft shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and you can enjoy some lovely riverside strolls, play a round of golf on the picturesque 18-hole golf course, make use of the swimming pool and children's play park.
National Trust Property, Cragside House and Gardens is located at the edge of the village.  This is a must visit when staying at The Annex and is not your average 'stately home'. There are many woodland walks to explore, as well as lakes and gardens. The house was originally the home of Lord Armstrong, the 'Magician of the North,' and  was the first house in the world to be illuminated by hydroelectricity! Explore the house and its many gadgets and see the 'Electrical Room installation - all great fun for the whole family!
The medieval market town of Alnwick is just under half an hour's drive away and offers a good range of shops, bars and restaurants. Spend time in the world's largest second-hand book shop - Barter Books before heading off to Alnwick Castle and world famous The Alnwick Garden. You may recognize the castle from the first Harry Potter Film’s as 'Hogwarts', and from many BBC series over the years including Downton Abbey.  Have lunch in The Treehouse restaurant and the kids will love the wobbly bridges!
No trip to Northumberland is complete without exploring the stunning Northumberland coastline and Sugar Sands beach is just over half an hour away, as is Howick Hall the former home of Earl Grey - beautiful gardens and great tea!
Bed linen, towels, heating and hot water are included.

Tastefully decorated, roomy, magnificent views, everything spic and span. All we needed was there, we enjoyed the break and loved the cottage. Cottage very good in every way. Northumberland has too many lovely places to name just a couple. Worth seeing for yourself.

Lovely surroundings and fantastic views. The whole place was spotless. We had everything you could have possibly needed and more. We went for a relaxing break and this was perfect. The house itself is amazing with breath taking views. Very modern and comfortable and has everything you could wish for. We had cozy nights around the fire pit, lovely walks. Rothbury village has some lovely pubs and all were dog friendly. The Turks Head has a lovely beer garden. We visited the Indian restaurant which was very good. Food very good at Newcastle House and Turks Head. We plan on returning next year.
