Stable West Cottage sleeps 4 guests and is located in the grounds of the magnificent Eshott Hall in Northumberland, nestled between Morpeth and Alnwick. Once the former estate stables, these cottages have been beautifully renovated and now offer a 4 star Visit Britain graded standard of self-catering accommodation. This cottage is ideally placed for exploring both the wonderful Northumberland coast and country and is popular with families, walkers, and cyclists.

Eshott Hall is surrounded by beautiful gardens and woodland in the heart of Northumberland. Only 6 miles away and you will find Druridge Bay Country Park which offers visitors the opportunity to sample the Northumberland Coast, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is also Ladyburn Lake which you can walk around, a nature sanctuary and visitor centre with a café, toilets and outdoor play area. There are a range watersport activities available on the Lake.

The traditional fishing village of Amble, known locally as 'the friendliest port' is just a short drive away and from here you can take a boat trip out from the dock steps at Amble harbour to visit the home of the Puffins and over 40, 000 nesting sea birds that live here during the Summer months. Also a grey seal colony can be seen all year round from the east of the island.

The village of Warkworth is just 2 minutes from Amble and is well worth seeing during your day out in Amble. There is a lovely riverside walk, you can hire a boat and have a gentle meander down the River Coquet before returning to explore the castle and having a bite to eat at one of the fabulous bars/resturants in the centre of the village, many of which are also pet friendly.

The ancient market town of Morpeth is only 8 miles South of Eshott Hall and offers a wide range of amenities. Or if you are a Harry Potter fan and wish to visit the home of the Hogwart’s, the historic town of Alnwick is well worth a visit and is only 13 miles north. Alnwick Castle along with the charitable project of Alnwick Garden, created by the Duchess of Northumberland, has a lovely woodland walk; a grand cascade waterfall, water fun based activities for children, poison garden and a restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Both the Castle and Garden are extremely popular attractions and are well worth the visit; a great day out for all the family young and old.

For those looking to explore the Northumberland countryside, the picturesque small town of Rothbury, which sits at the foot of the Simonside and Lordenshaw Hills, is only 15 miles inland. It sits astride the banks of the River Coquet and has several quaint tearooms, pubs, shops and a riverside 18 hole golf course. The 1,000 acres estate of the National Trust’s Cragside House and gardens, once home to Lord Armstrong, and the first home in the world to be lit be hydro - electricity is a popular visitor attraction.
