Millfield House is a beautifully presented, warm and welcoming property for up to 4 guests. Built in 1850, the cottage has been lovingly refurbished to a luxury  standard and still retains many of its original features. There are two light and airy bedrooms, the master with a King size bed and a second with twin beds and both bedrooms benefit from dual aspect windows, making the most of the lovely views of Durham Vale and the idyllic, surrounding countryside. A lovely welcome pack will be there to greet you and luxury bathrobes, slippers and toiletries are available during your stay. 

Outside to the rear, there is lovely, enclosed patio which leads to an enclosed lawned area, outdoor seating and a BBQ, ideal for enjoying al fresco dining or a glass a wine! This a great choice for families, friends, a couples retreat or a business stay and the area is also ideal for walkers and cyclists, with easy access to the nearby scenic C2C route! Secure storage for bicycles is available too.

The cottage is situated just one mile from Lanchester, in County Durham where you will find all the essential local amenities, pubs, restaurants and coffee houses. You are only 15 minutes' drive from Durham’s Cathedral City, Durham University, the many river walks and a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars. Newcastle upon Tyne's vibrant and culturally rich city centre is also within easy reach (30 mins by car). Staying at Millfield House means you are never far from the stunning Northumberland beaches and pretty harbour villages. 

Nearby, the world famous and award-winning Beamish Museum, is a must!!  and there are 25% discounts available for guests.

Accommodation Summary

Downstairs: Wooden flooring throughout.

Entrance: Large porch for coats and boots. 

Lounge: Spacious room with beamed ceiling, comfortable leather sofas, flat screen TV, with blu-ray and a digital sound system.

Kitchen/Diner: Fully equipped with electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and washing machine. Dining table and seating for four.

Master Bedroom: Spacious room with king-size bed, lovely, antique wardrobe and dressing table, bedside tables and lamps and a Lloyd Loom hand-crafted chair. Views of the local countryside. (Parents note: there is room in this bedroom for a travel cot).

Twin Bedroom: Two full-size single beds, shared bedside table and small chest of drawers. Views of the rear garden and beyond.

Family Bathroom: With electric shower over bath, hand wash basin, heated towel rail and WC.

Outside: Rear door opens to enclosed, secure patio area with outdoor seating and BBQ, plus additional lawned area.

Parking: There is off road parking for two cars.

This cottage accepts two medium-large or three small well behaved dogs. There is an additional charge, please see our terms and conditions (points 17-19) for more details of doggy house rules.
