Cottage was adequate for our needs with a balcony overlooking the very busy harbour at Seahouses. The resort of Seahouses appears to be one of the busier of the fishing type villages on this part of the Northumberland coast, we say this even though we visited at a time when the children had mostly gone back to school. If the reader of this is looking for something very quiet Seahouses may not be for them. However, it has got some life and bustle about it. We would definitely recommend a trip to the Farne Islands (even thought the puffins have now left), where there is all sorts of bird life, seals and we were lucky enough to see a large pod of dolphins. Definitely worth visiting Holy Island, Craster and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Walks to the East and West of Seahouses are easy to find and take you along beautiful long sandy beaches. Also, check out when the life boat are doing an exercise launch as its an amazing spectacle and one not to be missed.

The cottage was exceptionally laid-out with high quality items. The view of the harbour & Farne Islands was stunning (it took an effort to leave it every day). It was central to all Seahouses activities and shops. The flowers, wine & cake were a nice welcome.
