Hagg Hill Cottage truly is a hidden gem set in a semi-rural location within a stunning 25 acres of farmland, yet only a few miles west of Gateshead and Newcastle. The cottage is situated on Hagg Hill Farm which is a small, friendly family run business where there is a popular riding centre, livery yard, glass-art workshop, ceramic and carpentry workshop.

The Derwent Valley Park and Derwent walk are just over the road from Hagg Hill Cottage and provide guests with the opportunity to see the magnificent ‘red kite’ birds of prey and a host of other wildlife, just minutes away from the cottage.

Hagg Hill Cottage is a stone built, one bedroom cottage. It has been beautifully finished and is full of natural charm and character. The cottage has oil central heating throughout, making it a perfect choice for any time of year.

A holiday with a difference

For the more artistic holidaymaker, you could try your hand at glass making. One of the owner’s of Hagg Hill Farm is a professional glass artist and has her own studio on the farm – You are more than welcome to take a look at her work during your visit or even have a glass workshop session with the owner and make your very own colourful glass creation as a special memento of your stay at Hagg Hill Cottage.

Kitchen: breakfast bar, Belfast sink, a large range style cooker, dishwasher, integrated fridge and freezer, toaster, microwave, kettle, iron and ironing board. Dining table with seating for 4.

Lounge: Flat screen TV, radio, 2 double sofa’s (1 x sofa bed), electric log effect stove, patio doors leading out into private garden area, selection of books.


Master bedroom: king size bed, Juliet balcony overlooking grounds, en-suite bathroom, bed side tables, walk in wardrobe, chest of drawers, large mirror, wicker chairs.

Outdoor space: private garden area and shared use of extensive grounds. Off road parking outside of cottage for one car.

Please note: There is an additional refundable damage deposit required of £150 when booking this cottage. This is refunded within 5 days from departure following the cleaners' inspection. Please telephone the office on 0191 231 3020 to make this payment. Thank you.

This was a lovely cosy well equipped cottage in a wonderful location. We had a great welcome from the owners Paul and Rena and they were amazing in keeping an eye out for me after my husband was hospitalised after an accident We would certainly look forward to spending more time at Hagg Hill Cottage.
