We stayed at Cloister Cottage on the Ellingham estate. The cottage is small but comfortable and fairly well equipped. The Northumberland coast is stunningly beautiful and we enjoyed long walks along the coast, a terrific pub lunch in Lower Newton, a wonderful lunch at the Fat Mermaid in Amble and a great boat trip to see the puffins out at Coquet Island. If you're staying on the Ellingham estate, be sure to eat at the Pack Horse Inn, which is superb and very friendly.
