 4 Dukes Cottage is a beautifully renovated Grade II listed property providing luxury accommodation for up to six people in well presented three bedrooms.  This popular cottage has been awarded a 4-star Gold rating by Visit Britain and has been finished to a very high standard whilst retaining most of the original character of the property. With 3 bedrooms, a family bathroom, a cosy wood burning stove in the lounge and free guest Wi-Fi.

4, Dukes Cottage is ideal for anyone who is keen to explore the region.  It is situated near to Newcastle in a small, friendly village with a convenience store, pub, and hairdressers.  The nearest beaches of Whitley Bay and Tynemouth are within easy reach by car (4.5 miles/ 7km), as is Newcastle city centre (9 miles/16km).  If you're keen to explore a little further, then take a short drive north to find yourself in beautiful Northumberland, popular with beach lovers, walkers, cyclists and nature-lovers. Backworth village is great for golfers as it has it's own golf club which allows visitors to play during the week.

N.B. There is a Sainsbury's two minutes drive away and a convenient park and ride bus into Newcastle.

Ground floor

Living room: wood flooring with rug, log burning stove, large stone fireplace, Wi-Fi, flatscreen TV, DVD player, 2 large double sofa’s, coffee table, dining area at the rear of the room with seating for six.

Kitchen/dining: fully fitted tiled kitchen with electric range cooker and hob, microwave,  fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle, access to garden at the rear which has enough space for a barbeque and seating for warmer evenings.


Master bedroom: with King sized bed, bedside tables and lamps, built-in wardrobes, chest of drawers, original fireplace and dressing table area.

Second bedroom: twin beds, wardrobe, storage unit.

Third Bedroom: midi beds which are similar to bunk beds, giving extra space for two more guests.

Bathroom: Family bathroom, shower over bath, and a shower room. 

This cottage accepts two medium/large and three small well behaved dogs.
