The Summerhouse is a beautiful and unique coastal cottage for two with stunning views over the valley of the River Aln at Alnmouth. This open plan, single storey, studio style cottage is furnished with a seaside, nautical theme and is full of character. The cottage offers private parking, Wi-Fi, a multi fuel stove and a delightful, enclosed patio garden, ideal for a family dog. The cottage is located within walking distance of the village and beach and the mainline station is only 700 meters from the cottage, making it ideal if you don’t want to bring your car and are able arrive by train instead. You can even rent a bicycle from the station!

The famous market town of Alnwick with its iconic Castle (‘Hogwarts’ and ‘Downton Abbey’ fame) celebrated Castle Gardens and Heritage Railway tourist attraction is a short 3 mile journey and can be reached by car or bus (hourly buses) or on foot, along the rail and river path with some lovely views on the way.
Alnmouth seaside village offers something for everyone; there are some excellent pubs (the majority are dog friendly) in the village, as well as a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants within an easy walk or cycle from the cottage. The NCR 1 - (National Cycle Route 1) runs through the area and the other popular seaside villages of Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell, Newton-by-the-sea, Craster and Howick with its lovely gardens (highly rated by the BBC’s Gardeners Question Time!) are all nearby. A little further afield, (35 miles) you can reach the border town of Berwick upon Tweed or visit Newcastle upon Tyne by train from Alnmouth station.
