This superb luxury, family friendly holiday cottage for up to 8 guests is located in the exclusive hamlet of Shoreston, nestled nicely between the beautiful village of Bamburgh and the popular seaside village of Seahouses. Bamburgh’s magnificent castle, golden, sandy beaches and great range of independent shops, restaurants and cosy village pubs - combined with boat trips from Seahouses to the Farne Islands - make this one of our most ideally situated Bamburgh cottages by far.

Clashope Cottage was originally a farm dwelling (built around 1780) and now, thanks to its more recent and modern additions, this stunning property has been renovated with love - giving you and your family an opportunity to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday in memorable surroundings. In this self-catering Bamburgh cottage, there are 4 beautifully furnished bedrooms - with sea views of the stunning Northumberland Coast from the first-floor master bedroom. 2 of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, along with the family bathroom - making the property ideal for anyone with restricted mobility - and a fourth bedroom can be found at the top of its very own staircase. In addition, there is a Children's Playroom on the ground floor filled with toys, games and books. If you’re looking for coastal cottages with convenient access to the region’s incredible seaside views, Clashope Cottage could be your perfect match.

There’s plenty of cottage character to be found in the spacious and comfortable lounge, with a gas 'wood-burner' style stove, an impressive, stone feature wall and high, vaulted ceilings. For additional relaxation and space, Clashope Cottage boasts a fully furnished conservatory - with lovely views of the garden and beyond.

A starter pack of kindling, logs, newspapers and firelighters is supplied at this cottage.

When it comes to Bamburgh holiday cottages with all the amenities of home, this property is just the ticket. The layout of the cottage offers plenty of space to spread out, with a traditional ‘heart of the house’ kitchen and dining area - complete with a large wood-burning stove, where everyone can gather to chat, eat, drink and relax. There are lots of thoughtful finishing touches everywhere to guarantee everyone has an unforgettable seaside holiday - meaning families, walkers, cyclists, dog lovers and friends will all love staying in Clashope Cottage.

On top of all that, you’ll also find off-road parking for 2 and access to the garage for a third car, if required.

 Accommodation Summary:

Ground Floor:

Tiled entrance hall - with coat hooks and an area for boots and shoes.

Downstairs Cloakroom - with WC, sink and a heated towel rail.

Kitchen/ Dining Room - Door from the entrance hall leads in to the impressive farmhouse style kitchen and dining room. This light and spacious kitchen is fully equipped with attractive, modern units and there is a dishwasher, fridge freezer, range style cooker with electric oven and 7 gas rings, microwave, double toaster, expresso coffee machine (some coffee is provided) and kettle. The large washing machine and separate tumble dryer are located in the separate laundry cupboard.
The large, extendable farmhouse style dining table has seating for 8 plus, there is a ‘monk's’ bench and a rocking chair next to the large, open fireplace with a real log burning stove. Doors lead out from here into the enclosed, rear garden.

Lounge – With a beautiful, feature stone wall, a vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden beams. The 2 large, comfortable sofas and occasional tub chairs offer a great place to relax in front of the cosy gas ‘wood burner style’ stove. There is a large, flat screen TV with a standard Sky package, a Blu-Ray player and a CD Radio/mini Hi-Fi.

Conservatory – Overlooking the pretty, rear garden. With a large ‘L’ shape sofa and easy chairs plus a coffee table. This is a lovely room for reading and enjoying the garden with its unusual 'nut shaped' Summer House.

Children’s Play Room – with child size table and chairs, a bean bag, a wonderful range of games, toys and books for the little ones to enjoy. There is a stairgate provided for the doorway of this room.

Bedroom 1 – ‘The Patio Room’ with a King Size bed, bedside drawers and lamps, a dressing table and a double wardrobe. The double doors lead out into the patio area
Ensuite Shower room – with large, walk-in shower cubicle, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 2 – Twin beds with a bedside cabinet, lamp and cupboard/wardrobe. Delightful views across rolling farmland and countryside. Note For parents: Children's bed guards are available upon request - please confirm at booking stage.

Family Bathroom – with bath and shower over, heated towel rail, WC and wash basin with illuminated mirror.

First Floor:

Bedroom 3 – Large Master bedroom with a real WOW Factor! Patio doors lead out onto the balcony with wonderful views across the fields to the sea and Inner Farne Island. This is a spacious, light and airy bedroom with a Super King size bed, bedside drawers and lamps, dressing table and walk-in wardrobe. There is a raised area with a pretty sofa and two ‘Velux’ style windows offering additional views over rolling countryside.

Ensuite Shower Room - This is a good sized en-suite with a large, walk-in shower, wash basin with illuminated mirror over, WC, heated towel rail and cupboard space.

Bedroom 4 – Separate stairs lead up from the hallway to the charming fourth bedroom with a pretty iron, double bed, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe/cupboard. This room was the original and only bedroom in the cottage and has retained plenty of charm and character with its sloping ceilings and exposed wood beams. Guests can enjoy views from the two Velux style windows offering countryside views both to the south (the hamlet of Shoreston) and north (over the cottage’s rooftops).
(N.B. The ground floor cloak room is close by on the ground floor for use by guests in this bedroom).

Parents: A free travel cot and high chair are available at Clashope Cottage. Please remember to bring your own bedding for cot. Can you please let us know which room you would like the cot to be set up in? There is a stairgate at the door of the children's play room and an additional stairgate is available should you need it. Please let us know and we will organise that for you.

Outside:
There is a small, partly lawned garden to the rear of the cottage which is enclosed by stone walls on all sides. An interesting feature out here is the bespoke, handmade ‘nut house’, which is an attractively shaped wooden covered seating area. There is a large table with seating for 8 for outside dining on the patio. The shed houses the BBQ and several outdoor games, including lawn boules, garden ‘jenga’ and quoits.

Parking - the driveway has room for two cars. There is also a garage that guests are welcome to use if parking for a third car is required. (Please note that due to the single track country lane which is in use, roadside parking is not available).

*There is no charge for your dogs at Clashope Cottage  (a maximum 2 dogs are welcome downstairs only at Clashope Cottage) however, the owners ask that you please leave the cottage clean (from any dog hairs, garden mess etc.) and as you found it. Should there be a need for additional cleaning, as a result of your dogs staying, then this will be deducted from your security deposit. Thank you.

Everything about the cottage was as described. Clashope is full of character and history. Very comfortable with all the amenities you could want. The staff at Cottages in Northumberland were friendly and efficient. The best booking experience I've had.

The Cottage was very comfortable and the owner had thought about everything and I will definitely recommend this Cottage to friends. The Cottage was very clean and very well equipped which I was very happy about.
