Blue Barn is a beautiful barn conversion near Bamburgh and is suitable for guests with restricted mobility. With plenty of cottage character, including exposed beams, hardwood floors and solid oak furniture, Blue Barn offers an excellent range of facilities for up to 6 lucky guests. The cottage is located in the pretty hamlet of Warenton, just 15-20 minutes' drive from iconic Bamburgh Castle, its golden sandy beaches and Bamburgh's popular village centre with its renowned restaurants, independent shops, local attractions and a great golf course. Nearby, you have a range of must-see places to visit and explore such as, The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, seaside villages such as Seahouses, Beadnell, Craster, as well as the market town of Alnwick - famous for its amazing Castle and world renowned The Alnwick Gardens. To the north and within an easy 25 minutes' drive, you have the coastal village of Spittal, the beach and golf course at Goswick and the border town of Berwick upon Tweed.

This immaculately presented property will make a perfect holiday home from home for families and groups of friends with 3 lovely bedrooms, an en-suite wet room to the master bedroom, plus a modern family bathroom. There is an open plan lounge and dining area with a cosy wood burning stove overlooking the rear garden and there is also a garden to the front of the cottage with stunning views over open countryside of this glorious heritage coastline.  

The cottage is ideal for enjoying the famous Dark Skies of Northumberland and for cyclists andalkers and there is trout fishing nearby; there is plenty of secure storage for your cycling, walking and fishing gear. Not to be left out - Blue Barn is dog friendly too so, everyone can enjoy a well deserved break!

Accommodation Summary:

This cottage is suitable for guests with restricted mobility*.

Entrance via a shallow ramp leading from the front patio to the front door and a small area for hanging coats:

Kitchen: Fully fitted, modern kitchen with small pine work-table/ children's breakfast table and a couple of chairs, ceramic hob and electric oven, fridge freezer, slimline dishwasher, washer/dryer, 'Krups' coffee maker, slow cooker, microwave, 'Delonghi' 4-slice toaster and kettle, Villeroy Boch cutlery and an excellent selection of cooking utensils, pots and pans.

Lounge/Dining Room: With hardwood floor, two large and comfortable sofas, coffee table and rug,  solid oak nest of tables, a wood burning stove and fireguard, flat screen TV with Free Sat, Blu Ray, 3-D player (and glasses), Apple TV and a Wii console with Sports Resort included and a good selection of DVDs for all the family. Kiddies' toy box with lid and in addition,  a good selection of games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Cluedo, Trivial Pursuit etc. Access via arched door to rear, enlosed garden.

Dining table: with seating for 6 in high backed leather dining chairs. 

Family Bathroom: with shower over bath, hand wash basin, mirrored cabinet, WC, handwash and shower gel by 'Cole and Lewis'.

*Door from kitchen leads to the Hallway and there are 3 carpeted stairs leading to the 3 bedrooms. (NB There is a stair lift for these 3 stairs for anyone with restricted mobility).

Bedroom 1: With 2 single beds, small table and lamp, three quarter length mirror and a double wardrobe.

Bedroom 2: Double bed, with bedside tables and lamps, black out curtains, alarm clock, towel rail, corner single rail wardrobe and small mirror.

Bedroom 3: Spacious Master Bedroom with en-suite wet room. Feature wall covered in beautiful 'Larsen' designed wallpaper and Larsen designed blinds . Bedside tables, alarm clock and lamps, hair dryer, torch, double wardrobe with drawers, dressing table with stool and mirror and a chest of drawers.

En-Suite: Easily accessible via a shallow ramp, full wet room shower facilities with hand rail and storage caddy, heated towel rail, wash basin with storage beneath and illuminated mirror and WC, handwash and shower gel by 'Cole and Lewis'. (N.B. a corner shower stool is also available if requested in advance please).

Outside:

Enclosed rear garden and patio area accessed from the lounge.

Front garden with bench style seat to relax on and admire the views across open countryside towards Holy Island and the coastline.

Parking: for 2 cars

Garage: offering secure storage for cycling, surfing, diving and walking gear.

Wooden cotbed (60x120cm) and mattress, potty, toddler toilet seat, toddler bath (up to Aged 2.5 ish), highchair, plastic bib, microwave bottle steriliser. There is also a travel cot with mattress and newborn sling available. NB Cot bedding not provided.

*Dog package : Please request this in advance and the housekeeper will ensure these items are available for you on arrival. Large plastic dog bed (large Labrador sized), 2 raised dog bowls, long lead with ground stake.
Doggy bedding not provided.

We keep coming back to Blue Barn. We have stayed at Blue Barn in the summer and in the winter. Though each season provided different adventures, the one thing that remained constant was the peace and comfort of Blue Barn. Blue Barn is more like a home than a rental - with wonderful and unexpected luxuries like the oak furniture, top notch fittings and the open-planned space. We were able to walk every beach and visit all the sites, then come home to enjoy the fire, the television and the quiet hamlet of Warenton. Thanks for two unforgettable holidays.

We are all walkers and found the Blue Barn an ideal location to explore Northumberland, 5 minutes from the A1. Easy and quick access to Anwick, Berwick areas. It is near enough for a days visit to Edinburgh (my favourite city in the U.K.) The Barn is well equipped and the wood burner, with a large glass of wine, was luxury after a days walking. This area of the country appears to have its own weather system, during our stay we had clear sunny but cold days (March can be changeable) whilst the rest of the country had gales and endless rain. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
