Property code: 88214

A cottage with character, stunning views, lots of outside space, and a hot tub overlooking Kielder Water in Northumberland’s International Dark Skies Park. Perfect for couples and families.

Make magical memories with your family, friends or as a couple at this charming two-bed retreat. Two dogs can come too! A quaint stone cottage from outside, it offers the ultimate in cosy comfort indoors, a summer house outside and wonderful decking overlooking Kielder Water and the forested landscape beyond – there’s even a fantastic wood fired hot tub to enjoy it from. By day these views are great but by night stargazing here will astound you due to the low levels of light pollution.

Leave your worries with your outdoor gear in the hallway by the front door. The spacious lounge oozes character with exposed stone walls, stone floor and its wood burner for that extra cosy factor. French doors open onto the extensive decking. The kitchen/diner has rustic stone floors and exposed walls with a fitted kitchen offering all mod cons for cooking up a holiday feast to eat around the wooden table. There’s also a comfortable sofa and another wood burner in a stone inglenook for quiet moments or keeping the chef company. At day’s end, there are two king-size bedrooms – both with reservoir views and a mix of old and new furniture. The outside space is cleverly arranged. The decking leads from the lounge and is extensive, with the hot tub and garden furniture for dining alfresco. To the side, there’s a lawned area with a cute summer house for a different perspective.

Beautiful walks go from the doorstep through lovely nature, plus the local pub is just 1 mile away if you fancy a night off cooking. Water sports are available on Kielder Water. Located within Northumberland’s International Dark Skies Park, stargazing is a major draw here. If you want some help, however, visit Kielder Observatory (10 miles) for a guided session or event.

Cottage and facilities were tremendous hot tub was out of this world we did use all of the logs on the fires and the hot tub. Cottage is immaculate really nice place to stay only downside was none of the pubs were open on the Monday but it meant we spent more time in the hot tub enjoying the magnificent scenery

We had a fantastic week with our dog. Although the weather wasn't great all the time, we managed to enjoy the hot tub (takes about 3 hours to heat up). There are numerous walks from the cottage but you do have to navigate a road (forestry trucks drive too fast!) for about 200m. It's a pity the garden gate is locked so you can't walk across the fielRead mored to the dam. The cottage is warm, spacious and well-equipped. The dark skies and silence were much appreciated. We'd definitely stay there again. Hide

The day I arrived at the cottage it was foggy and raining so I could not see the local area well. When I stepped inside the cottage felt welcoming and was very warm. It is deceptively spacious. On waking up the first morning and looking out I could not believe the views and location. Outstanding! The cottage is beautifully furnished and well equippRead moreed. It really did feel like a home away from home and I will be back. Hide

Beautiful cottage overlooking Kielder Water. Lovely seating area off the lounge area to admire the views from. Location nice and quiet but shops within 20 minutes drive. Wood fired hot tub, easy to use but first heat up took about 6 hours, after that it was ready to use after about 1/2 hours heating.
