The NCR 1 - (National Cycle Route 1) runs through the area and the other popular seaside villages of Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell, Newton-by-the-sea, Craster and Howick with its lovely gardens (highly rated by the BBC’s Gardeners Question Time!) are all nearby. A little further afield, (35 miles) you can reach the border town of Berwick upon Tweed or visit Newcastle upon Tyne by train from Alnmouth station. The new Greenrig halt of the Aln Valley Railway is just a mile from the cottage and can be accessed by a short walk/ cycle ride along a scenic country lane, which also continues into Alnwick

A lovely, bijou cottage with fabulous views. A short walk into Alnmouth and to the main line station make it ideally located. Some lovely walks along the river and round the quiet roads near the cottage. We were lucky enough to catch the train turning on the Aln Valley Heritage railway, a short walk away. Very exciting.
