Highly recommended. The cottages and surrounds are built to a high standard, which will surely pay dividends in satisfied customers and repeat bookings. We can't remember staying in a better property. We stayed in Stables 1 which was perfect for our needs, welcoming and warm. My wife is from Consett, so we are very familiar with the area, and beinRead moreg huge fans of the nearby Knitsley Farm Shop the location couldn't have been better. We had good weather as it happened, but I'd imagine even in winter the cottages would be sheltered from the wind, and quite cosy. We can't think of a better cottage that we've visited. The owners have invested more than most in the cottages and surrounds, which provided us with a 1st class stay. We can't remember staying in a better property. Hide

We loved The Old Stables. The cottage was ideally situated to visit Keilder Forest, Hadrian's Wall, Highforce Waterfalls, Brimham Rocks, Derwent Resevoir. Overall we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The welcome basket was lovely and also the dog welcome pack was very thoughtful too with the dog bowls and blanket.

If you are looking for a beautiful rural location which is only 20 - 30 minutes away from the north east's two major cities (Durham and Newcastle) then these cottages are perfect. Tastefully decorated and with all mod cons, the cottages have everything you could need in a home away from home. I thoroughly recommend them.
