As we were new to the area we would have appreciated more information on the walks the wildlife etc . It was a stunning location but we had little understanding of what was around us . That would have helped us make the most of the limited time we had . Overall it was a lovely cottage spotlessly clean in a beautiful spot .

Just had an amazing 5 night break in the Old Barn Newton by the sea and what a treat it was for 6 of us. The house was beautiful it had everything we needed light spacious and immaculate. Peaceful, only visited by the Peacocks who came each day. Easy walk to the beach over the sand dunes and the sun shone all week just perfect. Only suggestion we cRead moreould make was to have a hand rail in each en suite showers as they did have a step up and that would have made it a bit easier. Well done and thank you we will be back. If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
