The Moorings is a spacious holiday cottage for 6 situated in the popular coastal village of Newton-by-the-Sea, home to the award winning Ship Inn pub and glorious beach walks to Dunstanburgh Castle. The beach is just a stone’s throw from this beautiful property and this area is part of the award-winning Northumberland Coastline recently awarded Holiday Destination of the Year by BBC Countryfile Magazine.

The Moorings is an ideal place to stay for a relaxing coastal break with friends or family. Offering ideal holiday accommodation for up to 6 guests with 2 bedrooms (double and twin), sleeping 4 in the main house and an additional double bed / lounge in The Annexe which offers additional open plan space plus a roof-top balcony.

The main house offers single-storey accommodation with a lovely large open plan lounge and dining room with an AGA wood burning stove.

There is a small reading corner and for those musically minded, there is a free standing piano which you are welcome to use during your stay.

The two-storey Annexe and its roof top balcony are attached to the main house and accessed via an interconnecting door. Downstairs, there is a light and airy sun lounge, kitchen/utility area in addition to a shower room and WC. Upstairs, is a studio-style, living / bedroom with its own TV, sofas and a double bed. From here you can access the roof top balcony.

Sorry, dogs are not allowed at The Moorings.

Excellent location 200 yards from the beach. Very comfortable and clean, very well equipped house. The owners were extremely responsive. Cosy and warm with plenty of hot water and an atmospheric log burner. All in all it is excellent

Cottage feels like a home rather than just a rental, so many thoughtful touches including the lovely welcome pack. The Moorings is the most lovely cottage, a real home from home, everything you could wish for is there. Both times we have booked this cottage we have had a text message to say it is ready for us before the "official" booking in time and everything is really clean and comfortable. This was our second stay and we have already booked again for next year which says it all really. A place that feels more like home than the usual 'holiday home'. A superb cottage with everything one could need. Great welcome pack. Spacious and ideal for relaxing inside and out. Ideal location for beach and great walking. Local pub is a gem.

We love it here! You want for nothing in this fab cottage, literally everything you might need is provided. It has the best stocked kitchen of any cottage weve stayed in! It really feels like a home from home. Great cottage in a fantastic location. Walks from the doorstep and a choice of pubs nearby. Greys Inn, Embleton was good for evening meals. Cottage was really clean, thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a week away.

We cannot praise this cottage highly enough. It is a real home from home, a lovely clean fully equipped kitchen, cozy living room and very comfortable bedrooms. The location is ideal for walking both on the beach and land. We visit Low Newton quite a lot and will certainly book The Moorings again. Many Thanks
