Nestling in a beautiful Northumberland village, this welcoming, spacious and cosy holiday home is close to a fabulous beach and is an ideal place to stay for a relaxing break with friends or family.

The Moorings is a spacious holiday cottage for 6 situated in the popular coastal village of Newton-by-the-Sea, home to the award winning Ship Inn pub and glorious beach walks to Dunstanburgh Castle. The beach is just a stone’s throw from this beautiful property and this area is part of the award-winning Northumberland Coastline recently awarded Holiday Destination of the Year by BBC Countryfile Magazine.

The Moorings is an ideal place to stay for a relaxing coastal break with friends or family. Offering ideal holiday accommodation for up to 6 guests with 2 bedrooms (double and twin), sleeping 4 in the main house and an additional double bed / lounge in The Annexe which offers additional open plan space plus a roof-top balcony.

The main house offers single-storey accommodation with a lovely large open plan lounge and dining room with an AGA wood burning stove.

There is a small reading corner and for those musically minded, there is a free standing piano which you are welcome to use during your stay.

The two-storey Annexe and its roof top balcony are attached to the main house and accessed via an interconnecting door. Downstairs, there is a light and airy sun lounge, kitchen/utility area in addition to a shower room and WC. Upstairs, is a studio-style, living / bedroom with its own TV, sofas and a double bed. From here you can access the roof top balcony.

Sorry, dogs are not allowed at The Moorings.

Brilliant location - beautifully presented house - enclosed back garden- steep drive and quite a few high steps both back and front. Would definitely revisit.

Excellent cottage in a brilliant location 2 minutes walk from the beach. The photos really dont do the house justice as it is so spacious with plenty of room to spread out. Very well equipped and plenty of books and games to keep the kids entertained. Would highly recommend and would love to come back again one day!

Super location, clean and tidy with loads of space. Large garden to sit out in and upstairs is a lovely place to sit out. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

What a wonderful place, it really felt like home! We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes and this is by far the best equipped cottage. Everything youd need is here and its especially great for families (so many games!). The location, the accommodation, the attention to detail and finish is all brilliant. Our daughter didnt want to leave (neither Read moredid we!). Hide

This was our second stay at "the Moorings" and we will be back again. It is a fabulous property and feels like home as soon as you step through the door. The facilities are excellent and the location superb.

Lovely homely cottage in a beautiful location close to the beach for wonderful walks. Great accommodation with plenty of excellent facilities. The layout is perfect for families to get together, but there are also plenty of different spaces where family members can get some "me time" to read and enjoy other activities. Lovely peaceful, beautiful and scenic location. Home from home with all the facilities you would expect in a holiday cottage, with very thoughtful extras - excellent collection of games and books and a piano to keep your family entertained in the evenings - or during rainy days.

The cottage has a fabulous location being near to the beach and lots of walks along the coast. There are lots of things to do in the area all within easy reach.

Lovely clean cottage, actually a lot bigger than I thought. It was very well equipped, plenty games, books etc for children and a fabulous garden for watching the birds and rabbits. Its a very short walk from the beach and there are lovely walks from the house ie to Dunstanburgh Castle and Craster , or Beadnell. The bird hide was closed because of Read moreCovid but it was still a pleasant walk. Definitely recommend this cottage. Hide
