Fabulously located on a friendly farm and surrounded by meadows and verdant space, escape to this barn for a taste of countryside living. Adventure your days away in the Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and stock up on delicious local produce in nearby Hexham (3 miles) to keep your cupboards filled with treats. The perfect destination for adventurous families and groups of explorers, these adjoining barns sleep ten guests across five bedrooms, and two dogs. Take a night off from the kitchen to celebrate in style and arrange for a local chef to spoil you with a three-course feast.

Step inside through one of two doors and head straight upstairs to the open-plan living space. Beneath a striking vaulted ceiling sit two lounge areas, two kitchens and two dining tables, so there is ample room for everyone to put their feet up and admire views through the large windows, and space for everyone to sit with a mug of tea and a snack. The pair of sleek kitchens means that everyone can lend a helping hand to prepare meals or to rustle up side dishes for a sizzling BBQ banquet. Dine inside or serve up alfresco in the remains of the old wheelhouse and don’t be surprised if a duck or a hen waddles past to say hello! With underfloor heating and five en-suite bath/shower rooms, head to bed for a peaceful night’s sleep. Calming tones and quirky, rustic features create a lovely space in which to wake up and get ready for the day. There is off-road parking for five cars.

Spend a couple of your days enjoying a garden or cookery course on-site and spend the others exploring your surroundings. Plan your visit to Hexham (3 miles) around the twice-weekly market or the twice-monthly farmers’ market and enjoy a gentle morning close to home. Roam the fantastic Kielder Water and Forest Park and start your journey at Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (30 miles), where you can also grab a bite to eat or a warming drink.

Simon was a good host , providing all our extra culinary equipment needs etc. The grounds are fabulous for strolling, dog walking and paddling. All rooms were well equipped and nicely furnished. Really great for a family gathering.

The " barn " was such a great setting for our family celebrations - it truly exceeded our expectations ( which was already pretty high). The barn was so beautiful,homely with modern twists .It had everything we needed to make our family gathering so special . This was a lovely property in beautiful surroundings. It was decorated and equipped to a high standard. The owners were lovely, friendly but not intrusive. We had a great time. It was ideal for a large family get together.

Hosts were excellent, friendly but not obtrusive. Accommodation was spotless and very well equipped. Large area of garden with access to the river made for a very pleasant walk. Good situation for the town and exploring the surrounding area.
