This south-facing holiday home offers spacious and bright accommodation in the stunning Coquet Valley.

The Annex is a beautifully presented holiday cottage for up to 4 guests, ideally located in an exclusive area of Rothbury. Accessed via a private driveway, the property has an area for parking 2 cars next to the house and a lovely, patio/decking area with amazing views! Inside, the spacious accommodation, includes 2 lovely bedrooms, both with ensuite facilities. The property is south facing, so you will get any sun streaming into the comfortable lounge almost all day and this room has French doors opening onto the patio area and those amazing views of the expansive grounds and the glorious Northumberland Countryside of the oquet Valley - quite simply, this is a stunning place to base your holiday.

There is a fully equipped, modern kitchen with a dining/family room which includes a TV and sofa so you have plenty of facilities to keep everyone happy. Upstairs, to the front, the spacious master king-size bedroom has an an en-suite bathroom and features wide, French doors which open out onto the balcony and overlooks the garden and lovely countryside beyond. The second bedroom is a twin-bedded room which also has its own en-suite shower room.

The Annex is just a ten-minute walk along the valley road to the village of Rothbury and all the amenities it has to offer. Known locally as the Capital of Coquetdale, Rothbury is the springboard to the Northumberland National Park. The Simonside Hills are within easy reach and cyclists and walkers will love all the different trails in the area. Rothbury village offers a great range of independent shops, galleries, craft shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and you can enjoy some lovely riverside strolls, play a round of golf on the picturesque 18-hole golf course, make use of the swimming pool and children’s play park.

National Trust Property, Cragside House and Gardens is located at the edge of the village. This is a must visit when staying at The Annex and is not your average stately home. There are many woodland walks to explore, as well as lakes and gardens. The house was originally the home of Lord Armstrong, the Magician of the North and was the first house in the world to be illuminated by hydroelectricity! Explore the house and its many gadgets and see the Electrical Room installation - all great fun for the whole family!

The medieval market town of Alnwick is just under half an hour’s drive away and offers a good range of shops, bars and restaurants. Spend time in the world’s largest second-hand book shop - Barter Books before heading off to Alnwick Castle and world famous The Alnwick Garden. You may recognize the castle from the first Harry Potter Films as Hogwarts and from many BBC series over the years including Downton Abbey. Have lunch in The Treehouse restaurant and the kids will love the wobbly bridges!

No trip to Northumberland is complete without exploring the stunning Northumberland coastline and Sugar Sands beach is just over half an hour away, as is Howick Hall, the former home of Earl Grey - beautiful gardens and great tea!

Absolutely lovely location and house, great walk into rothbury with dog and lovely scenery, the house its self is fab and we had great week away, everything you need is provided and the gift package on arrival was much appreciated, will definitely be back

Sort out the smell. Improve car parking by having tarmac parking area as rest of cottages at this address.Cut back trees and move large stones so cars can turn round more easily.
