Had great week in Northumberland from sweet melody cottage in the village of Longframlington.. We were welcomed on arrival by the owners with a few goodies of wine milk butter etc for our stay. Nice touch and Much appreciated. Cottage very clean and well appointed for all the village amenities. I'm sure if visiting when cold the log burner in the lRead moreounge would be a real treat. Garden a sun trap at certain times of day and can relax there with the furniture etc that's provided.. Kitchen and bathroom comfortable to use. Bed was again comfortable.. Could see that traffic noise may be problem for some but can't say it bothered us unduly and wouldn't stop us returning to sweet melody cottage. Thanks to the lovely owners for providing us with all we needed for a great stay in Northumberland. Hide

We very much enjoyed our stay in Sweet Melody Cottage. The owner(s) (we met Michael) was really very friendly and helpful. The cottage was warm and cosy (we stayed over New Year) and suited all our needs. It was in a great location for reaching family in Newcastle, and visiting both the Cheviot Hills and the coast.

Sweet Melody Cottage is a warm, welcoming and very well located cottage, close to Alnwick and only 25 Mins or so from the beaches at Warkworth. It is well served by excellent local eating establishments, especially the Village Inn and the Anglers Arms - the Black Pudding Mash in the Village Inn is to die for!! The local shop is brilliant and the owRead moreners of the cottage could not do enough to make the stay as comfortable as possible. We loved the walks on the beach and our dog was cream crackered by the time we left to come home!! Vindolanda is a must see and take a walk from Embleton Golf Course to Dunstanburgh Castle, followed by a pint in the Greys Inn. A great afternoon. Hide
