Immaculate and spacious property with a gorgeous garden. Plenty to do and see in the area and the working farm makes it fun and interesting for all. Ideal for a family or group of friends.

Just north of the Northumberland National Park and 26 miles from the seaside village of Bamburgh, explore both coast and countryside whilst holidaying at this humble abode. Full of charm and rustic style, this cottage welcomes you back after long days exploring. Sleeping six guests over three rooms, the open fire is perfect for cosy evenings in (and is a real hit with dogs), whilst the beautiful garden and summerhouse cater for sundowner evenings.

Arrive at this home from home and settle in right away. The handy boot room is a great place to leave muddy shoes and towel down soggy fur after adventures before heading into the lounge to warm up. Throw a log on the open fire and sit awhile with a book and a cup of tea. If you’re the designated cook, find yourself in the bright kitchen/diner where there are all the appliances you need to serve up delicious flavours. Dine inside or descend a step to the patio and enjoy a sociable meal with a toast to the chef. One of three charming bedrooms can be found on the ground floor and sits opposite a family bathroom so you can freshen up with ease. The two remaining bedrooms can be found on the first floor in the eaves of the house (take care of sloping ceilings) and both are treated to en-suites. There is off-road parking for three cars.

Jump in the car and head 26 miles to the vibrant village of Bamburgh with its dog-friendly beach. Boasting terrific ocean views, both the castle and the golf course are well worth a trip before you settle down on the sand for a day by the sea. Brimming with spectacular landscapes and trails to explore, spend time roaming the Cheviot Hills. View the tumbling falls at Linhope Spout (27.5 miles), walk the Border Ridge and set off from Kirk Yetholm (4 miles), or travel 19.5 miles and summit the tallest point in the Northumberland National Park, The Cheviot, which stands at 815 metres with views reaching as far as the Lake District on a clear day.

  • 2 dogs welcome (dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on the farm)

  • Private water supply
  • Due to insurance purposes, guests must never charge their car using a standard outdoor plug or an extension cable linking to a domestic plug. This is not permitted because of fire regulations regarding wiring, earthing rods and voltage restrictions; it poses a serious fire risk to standard 13 amp sockets and there is a real danger that the body of the vehicle could become live
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

We stayed with grandparents and two under 5's during the October break. The farm is set in a very picturesque spot. I loved the view from the bedroom windows. There is a little enclosed garden at the back which is perfect for the wee ones to play in, or to sit and have a coffee when it is warmer. The cottage was cosy and full of charm. So glad we found this gem of a cottage. It is spacious yet comfy cosy. The furnishing in character with all mod cons. It is very well equipped with everything we needed. We slept brilliantly due to the comfortable beds and quiet location. The garden is enclosed great for dogs. This cottage is ideal for 2 couples and is a brilliant get away from it all. The garden is a real asset to enhance one's stay. We would go back at the drop of a hat.

We would definitely recommend Stable Cottage. We had a wonderful, relaxing week, (wish it was longer). It was cosy, clean, comfortable, very well equipped and so peaceful. All the people we met on the farm were really friendly & learning a little about the farm was fascinating. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday at Stables cottage during October half term. The accommodation is excellent and in a great location. We loved being joined to the farm which added a bit of interest without intrusion. Walking the dog down to the river every morning was a pleasure especially saying hello to Fuzzy the donkey on the way. Everyone Read morewas very friendly and helpful. 2nd visit to this beautiful cottage, in a quiet location. House is equipped for everything you need, comfortable and clean. Owners and farm workers so friendly offering advice where to visit and welcoming. Great for our dogs too who loved the walled garden. Overall another wonderful week!

Lovely, well equipped property, with good enclosed back garden. 12 miles from Berwick Tesco, 40 mins from Bamburgh. Very peaceful even though it's a working farm.

As a family we were very impressed with every aspect of the cottage and the owners, it was very well equipped and on arrival we found a wonderful welcome pack that was very appreciated. A lovely, homely cottage. Exceptionally equipped and comfortable. The situation was wonderful and being able to walk through parts of the farm and see the animals was lovely. Lovely welcome basket on arrival.

Remote, peaceful location with a lovely enclosed garden for sitting in, this is a very comfortable and welcoming cottage. The rooms are bright and spacious with an amazingly well-equipped kitchen, complete with a welcome hamper on arrival. Plus there's an expansive library of books to suit all tastes! Loved our week at Stable Cottage.

Lovely cottage and location with a very nice welcome pack. Food delivery arranged from Tesco for first evening, so set up for the week. Really enjoyed the walks from the cottage, especially down to the river (although this is only short), with plenty of places handy for a visit (particularly enjoyed the beaches).
