Discover the stunning Northumberland coast with your loved one while staying in this gorgeous seaside cottage for an unforgettable romantic break. This peaceful area can be discovered by foot or bike thanks to the scenic coastal path running the length of the county. If you've got dogs, they can come along too as this property welcomes up to two canine guests.

This bungalow is a peaceful haven, with original features such as wooden ceiling beams that add to its charm. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is perfect for relaxing in, perhaps reading a magazine or watching some TV together. Meals just like at home can be prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. Outside, you'll find a patio with lovely sea views where you can enjoy afternoon coffee and cake while taking in the pretty surroundings and a lockable bike storage shed.

In Boulmer, enjoy a quiet pint in the local pub or have a nose at the work in the small art gallery. Look out for the traditional wooden coble fishing boats, which are still used to catch crab, lobster and sea salmon today. To stretch your legs, wander along the coast to Alnmouth (3.5 miles), a picturesque village on the edge of the River Aln. Here you'll find painted houses and village shops to explore, plus a beach that's perfect for playing badminton or just lazing back on. Howick (4 miles) is the home of Earl Grey tea – head to the tea room to enjoy home-cooked scones with a cup of the world-famous brew.

Access to the large quiet beach almost on the doorstep. It felt busy one morning when there were only two people and a dog for company. The pub next door has very strange rules, especially if you have your dog with you, however they have a great verandah accessed from the beach (dogs welcome here!) Food excellent but expensive.

Beautifully clean, and very well equipped with quality stuff.. Ideally positioned 30 yards away from a very large beach which has very few visitors. Absolutely perfect for the dogs to run and play. The inn is 20 yards the other way. Not the cheapest place, but the meals are excellent. Sitting on the outside decking overhanging the beach is really nRead moreice, but opening hours of this are very difficult to understand. The owner lives next door, and is very nice and helpful, not intrusive. Hide
