Great location, lovely view. Nice touch with a welcoming box of shortbread, tea, coffee and wine - very thoughtful, thank you. The cottage was very clean throughout. Including all crockery, glasses, utensils etc. Plus there was enough equipment (hoover & mop etc) to keep it clean. The flat had everything you could possibly want. Would definitely reRead morecommend to others and we hope to come back to Northumberland again some day so I will come back to Cottages in Northumberland. May even try to go back to the same accommodation. he beach at Seahouses ticked all the boxes for us. For fish & chips in Seahouses go to Lewis's, they were delicious. The sausages and burgers from the butchers in Bamburgh lived up to their reputation! We went back for more to bring home. Hide

Location couldn't have been better. Directly opposite the sea, hence the name " Sound of the Sea". Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Sound of the Sea was a very comfortable ground floor apartment perfectly located opposite the beach and only a 10 min walk into Seahouses village itself. Recommend eating at the Olde Ship Inn and also Insiemne Read moreItalian restaurant. Also has two good Indian restaurants and excellent fish and chip shops. Freshly cooked fish and chips. Recommend the walk along the beach from Seahouses to Bamburgh. Take a nice stroll around Bamburgh and visit the Grace Darling museum (free of charge). Follow with a drink at the Victoria Hotel which allow dogs in the bar. A visit to the local butchers a few doors away. Must buy the Bamburgh sausages. Hide

Fab location, close to all necessary amenities. Always lovely and clean and very well equipped. We have 2 dogs so the ground floor flat is perfect for us. We just come to relax and walk on the beach, such a beautiful beach. Neptune's fish and chips are the best ever.

The flat had very good facilities for everything. The location was wonderful with very easy access to the beach and attractions as well as shops. There was everything you could wish for. Children were really well catered for as well as adults, you could just look out of the double doors and be transported to a fantastic place. There are plenty of pRead morelaces to get a variety of food to eat out,or to do shopping and cook at the flat. There is even a great pint to be had for dad if he likes real ales, in the oldest pub in Seahouses, named "The Ship Inn". Oh and they do fantastic food. Great holiday. Visited Bamburgh Castle and too many other places that were in easy reach to mention. A must is the Farne Islands with the seals, puffins and all the other birds. Well equipped and maintained. Excellent selection of books, toys, games etc.. (even buckets and spades for the beach although we didn't use them). We are very grateful for cottage owners that accept 2 dogs. It was ideally situated for dog walking and access to the beach.
