Smugglers Hideaway is a wonderfully welcoming, situated and equipped 'home from home.' We particularly appreciated the detailed folder of advice and recommendations which directed us towards some amazing attractions, walks and eateries (especially if you like crab sandwiches!). This really is a lovely hideaway. Close to Bambrugh, not far to get to Holy Island. You will need a car to get to the beach which is only a few miles away. The roads surrounding it are main roads without pavements so its tricky to navigate with children, dogs etc. But can highly recommend as a quiet retreat. We had a lovely week staying at the Smuggler's Hideaway - tasteful decorations, interesting books and very comfortable. This property is in a great location, however I agree with a previous review in that I think the property is looking very tired and would benefit from a significant upgrade . Unfortunately we also felt that the property is not being cleaned thoroughly in between guest stays.

Comfortable and reasonably well equipped but very tired looking and shabby in places. However, the cottage is located in a beautiful area. We would not, however, choose to stay there again.

Beautiful little cottage in a fabulous location, the best of Northumberland within easy reach on bike or car. Amazingly close to the coastline (just over the road!) Only thing to watch for is no pavement to get onto the Bamburgh side of the coast and cars come round a sharp bend quite fast. Can be a bit daunting, especially with children or a dog.
