Detached holiday home close to the thriving town of Wooler and within easy reach of the fabulous walks, wildlife and tourist attractions on offer in Northumberland. Perfect retreat for friends and families.

Located on one of the most prestigious roads in popular and picturesque Wooler and within walking distance of the town’s excellent range of independent shops, friendly pubs and restaurants. This is walker and cyclist heaven at the foothills of the Cheviot Hills and close to the spectacular Northumberland National Park. Play golf or just enjoy the walks and wildlife at the nearby club. Visit Chillingham Castle and see the rare wild cattle, take a ride on the steam train at Heatherslaw station to Ford and Etal Castle. Drive to nearby Berwick-upon-Tweed for a day of culture, shopping, coast and river walks and head to Bamburgh to explore its wide sandy beach, superb castle and renowned eateries in the village. Alnwick Castle, better known as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, is approximately 20 miles away.

On arrival at this inviting property, you will find plenty of space to park on the private driveway and you’ll enter through the front door into the porch where you can leave your outdoor coats and boots. Head into the spacious open-plan lounge with dual aspect windows and comfortable seating for everyone to relax while watching the Smart TV. A glazed door in the lounge takes you out onto the patio area. Five broad steps lead up to the bright kitchen/diner area with a central island where you can sit on bar stools for breakfast or enjoy a drink and chat while dinner is cooking. This contemporary kitchen has everything you need including an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The hallway to the bedrooms leads from the lounge. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, fitted wardrobes and a view from the bay window overlooking the garden. The en-suite bathroom has a shower over the bath, and a WC. There is another king-size bedroom and the third bedroom is a twin. These two bedrooms share a separate, modern family shower room with a shower and WC.

Outside, there is a large, decked area with garden furniture where you can enjoy drinks and meals alfresco and a small lawned area that catches the sun. Parking is off-road for up to four cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Ryecroft Retreat was the perfect base for us to visit family in the North East. The property itself is extremely well appointed and was scrupulously clean. All furniture, crockery, kitchen utensils and appliances are good quality and there are plenty of extra thoughtful touches. The cottage is spacious, lovely and very well equipped. Wooler is a lovely little market town. You are in easy reach of the beautiful Northumberland coast, a day trip to Edinburgh and a walk up onto Wooler Common from the front door.
