The cottage was in a beautiful location and there was plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 dogs. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend but could have been perfect with small attention to detail as stated above

Very nice location, plenty of walks, ideal for pets. Wonderful pub called the Tankerville Arms. Excellent food in nearby Eglingham. Cottage had lots of space for our family, 6 adults and 2 children.

We had a fabulous time staying at Riverside Cottage. It is exactly the type of place we look for for our annual whole family and dogs come too holiday. It was clean, very comfortable and homely with lots of nice touches like a toy cupboard for younger children, cosy throws on the sofas and games and films for the grown ups - perfect!

Lovely cottage overall love the huge kitchen/ dinning area nice walks around fields and woods children loved the outside play house a bit isolated as you had to drive everywhere even to pub but it was a very nice pub

Wonderful location; beautiful and a perfect base for exploring the county (on the edge of the national park and close to the coast). The cottage was a good size and contained most modern facilities. The wifi was unstable, however. The cottage does require some refurbishment/modernising as some parts of it are in disrepair. Once this is completed, iRead moret will become an outstanding location for large tour groups. Northumberland is an incredible holiday destination. Hide

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.
