This stylish large country cottage is the perfect place for family gatherings. Light and spacious, it offers beautiful views, nearby beaches and wonderful days out at local historic attractions.

Rafters is one of few beautifully finished, stone-built holiday cottages in Beadnell - with a lovely atmosphere and excellent facilities, making it the perfect choice for a fun, family holiday at any time of year. The cottage is located in a small hamlet called Tughall Steads, and is just minutes from the stunning Northumberland Coast - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - with nearby beaches including Low Newton (just 6 minutes’ drive) and the popular Beadnell Bay (only 9 minutes away).

From our Beadnell holiday cottages, you can enjoy the best of both worlds - with access to breath-taking rugged landscapes and tranquil seaside views. The peaceful countryside is right on your doorstep - while Beadnell’s beautiful beach and crescent-shaped bay are nearby, where you can enjoy watching or taking part in a range of exciting watersports sports (such as windsurfing, bodyboarding and kitesurfing, to name a few!).

Another extremely popular beach to visit when you stay in one of our quaint coastal cottages is Low Newton-by-the-Sea - offering lovely beach walks in the fresh seaside air, followed by some hard-earned food and drink at The Ship Inn. Work that off with a brisk walk along the beach, where the ancient ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle provide a powerful backdrop.

Cycling from our Beadnell cottages to any of the nearby beaches is also a popular option - giving you an opportunity to absorb the beautiful views and enjoy spotting local wildlife around the area, with secure bike storage available on the property. The accommodation is spacious, light and airy - with a decent-sized, enclosed garden, a patio area, outdoor furniture and a set of garden swings for children to play on. On top of all that, Rafters offers off-road parking for up to 2 cars, oil central heating throughout and free guest Wi-Fi you can use throughout your stay!

This cottage accepts two medium-large or three small well behaved dogs.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Very homely and a great size. Loved loved loved the house, it has everything you need. We went as a family and it was very comfortable for all of us. The size meant that we were not falling over each other. Loved Seahouses village and beach and Bamburgh is stunning. Will definitely be back.

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
