Rafters is a beautifully finished, stone-built holiday cottage in Beadnell - with a light and airy atmosphere and excellent facilities, making it the perfect choice for a fun, family holiday at any time of year. The cottage is located in a small hamlet called Tughall Steads, and is just minutes from the stunning Northumberland Coast - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - with nearby beaches including Low Newton (just 6 minutes’ drive) and the popular Beadnell Bay (only 9 minutes away).
From here, you can enjoy the best of both worlds - with access to breath-taking, country landscapes and wonderful seaside villages like Low Newton-by-the-Sea - offering lovely beach walks where the ancient ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle provide a powerful backdrop, followed by some hard-earned food and drink at locally renowned The Ship Inn. The peaceful countryside is right on your doorstep - while Beadnell’s beautiful beach and crescent-shaped bay are nearby, where you can enjoy watching or taking part in a range of exciting water sports sports (such as windsurfing, body boarding and kitesurfing, to name a few!).
Drop your coats, wellies and dog leads in the entrance hall and head into the kitchen and dining area beyond. The kitchen/dining area is the perfect place to enjoy meals together and has exposed beams and a traditional farmhouse feel with cream units and appliances. There is an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, and a table seating up to six guests. The spacious lounge has two large sofas where you can relax and a TV/DVD player. A feature fireplace with gas wood burner style fire is a comfortable place to cosy up to in the evenings, while watching one of the VHS films on the retro video player. Windows overlook the garden to the rear and the shared courtyard, parking area at the front. Stairs lead up to the master ,double bedroom with high ceilings and exposed beams. There is a TV in the bedroom and an armchair for your convenience. The two other bedrooms both have twin beds and a bathroom with bath and overhead shower, basin and WC complete the first floor.
Cycling from the cottage to any of the nearby beaches is also a popular option - giving you an opportunity to absorb the beautiful countryside up close and enjoy spotting local wildlife around the area, with secure bike storage available on the property. The accommodation is spacious and light - with a good size, enclosed garden, a patio area, outdoor furniture and a set of garden swings for children to play on. On top of all that, Rafters offers off-road parking for up to 2 cars, oil central heating throughout and free guest Wi-Fi you can use throughout your stay!
This cottage accepts two medium-large or three small well behaved dogs.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
This cottage offers private guest membership to use the facilities of The Ocean Club in Seahouses. This includes the 20-metre indoor swimming pool with a separate children's pool and spa/sauna area and a wide variety of equipment in the Fitness Suite. You can even book an hour with a personal trainer.
For those of you looking to relax a little more, you can treat yourself to a pamper day with a facial, a massage, a manicure or indulge in one of the specialist therapies on offer.There is also a coffee shop with a bar licence and free Wi-Fi to meet up with friends and family after your visit to the club.
Please note, the membership pass allows entry to this private Club. There is a charge to pay per visit of £6 per adult and £3 per child (Children under 2 go free).
