Distinctive property in the heart of Northumberland, close to beaches. Exclusive, romantic hideaway for a couple looking for somewhere exclusive and a little adventurous to make everlasting memories.

A stunning romantic getaway for two, this unique property overlooks the historic town of Alnwick and provides fantastic holiday accommodation for keen walkers exploring this beautiful part of Northumberland. Set in an elevated spot with far-reaching views, this wonderful Grade II-listed tower has a range of unusual and quirky features, including stone walls, a spiral staircase, wooden beams and impressive arched windows. Close to the heart of the town, the tower has been imaginatively renovated and designed, and is a wonderful bolthole for couples discovering the area’s beautiful coastlines, quaint villages and spellbinding countryside.

Entering the tower, a very narrow and steep stone spiral staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find the stylish open-plan kitchen/diner with light flooding in via the large arched windows. The kitchen has a fantastic range of equipment with a central island ideal for enjoying breakfast, along with a separate dining table perfect for a romantic candlelit meal. Stairs lead up to a snug mezzanine with a cushioned window seat, bookcase and views on all four sides. A separate flight of stone stairs winds up from the kitchen to the cosy second-floor lounge with views of Alnwick Castle from the Gothic-style eastern window. With plenty of seating and a Smart TV, the lounge is a perfect space to snuggle up to enjoy a favourite movie. This floor also features the stylish bathroom. A final mezzanine level wraps around two sides of the tower, overlooking the lounge, and offering the relaxing super-king-size bed.

Alnwick has a bustling market, a choice of independent shops and friendly pubs. The town is known for its castle and the superb Alnwick Garden with its treehouse restaurant. Along the coast you can also visit Dunstanburgh Castle, Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum, and Warkworth Castle (all within 10 miles).

  • 1 shower room with WC
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, microwave and a Tassimo coffee machine
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Shop and pub under 0.25 miles

Fully equipped kitchen with utensils and generous welcome basket and fresh fruit and flowers. Large shower and comfy warm bed. Spiral stairs were challenging but were aware of them prior to booking.
