The owner upgraded us because the chalet booked had heating problems, but the cottage was an obvious improvement and we were delighted with it. The dark skies were amazing an well worth the drive

Only stayed a couple of nights due to a family emergency, however did find the cottage very basic and could of been cleaner ,quite a few cobwebs on the Windows and curtain poles .

Great for a short stay. Lovely location, stunning skies and sooooo quiet! Love the rustic nature - not a luxury palace but that's not what you would want here.

Mixed review in that the place was a bit worn and tired, but clean, tidy, comfortable, and well appointed. Pretty much as expected when it takes dogs. We had issues out of the owners control - forests closed due to effects of storms, bridge works right outside the door and lots of rain! Biggest issue for us as dog owners was that there was nowhere Read moreto walk safely. Roads have no paths and walks from the cottage were all in working farms and fields full of sheep! Rights of way yes, but not fenced Hide

Pheasant Lodge was in a lovely location but was not of a great standard. We found cleanliness poor and certain pieces of furniture to be broken. There was little helpful information on how to operate heating or TV. The garden was a mess yet had lots of potential. I would not go back!

Cottage needs a lot of improvement to bring it up to an acceptable standard. Not suitable for dogs as the enclosed area does not have grass, just stones and planters.

Perfect for us, a couple and a dog. Walkable to two pubs both served excellent food and were dog friendly. The cabin was cosy and the kitchen was well equipped (minus tea towel) I loved the natural light in the cabin and the surrounding areas were beautiful. Storm Arwen has really taken its toll on the area leaving some areas inaccessible at the moRead morement. Would 100% recommend. Hide
