Cosy, welcoming property in a quiet location near miles of sandy beach, a golf course and the longest promenade in Northumberland. Perfect seaside break for families and couples with dogs.

Providing a great base from which to explore, this cosy cottage sits less than a mile from the local beach and is close to a golf course and plenty of places to enjoy a meal out. Spend salty days in the sand, sea and surf before returning home to the welcoming wood burner and snuggling up for the night. If evenings are warm and light, take a tipple outside onto the patio and bask in the last of the warmth before heading to bed. Sleeping four across two rooms, this abode is great for small families and their dogs.

Sitting on a peaceful terrace, step inside and make yourselves at home. After a long journey, head for the lounge and throw a log on the wood burner before choosing a spot on the pair of sofas and putting your feet up. The Smart TV is great for family nights in front of the screen whilst the Bluetooth speaker caters for lively nights filled with singing and dancing. When it’s time to cook up a storm, the snug yet sleek kitchen has all you need and leads out to the rear patio so you can let the fresh air flood inside as you cook. Plate up in the bright dining room before stepping down and taking a tipple outside to finish the evening alfresco. Watch day turn to dusk and head back inside to freshen up in the ground-floor family bathroom with a soak in the tub or a shower. After getting ready for bed, ascend to the first floor to rest your head in one of two bedrooms, both with neutral tones and one of which has bunk beds perfect for younger guests. There is on-street parking for one car.

Pick up your clubs and take to one of the local golf courses, the closest of which is less than half a mile away. After taking to the green, whet your appetite at a local eatery before spending the afternoon on the beach or heading out to explore. For a spot of retail therapy, travel 17 miles to the bright lights of Newcastle.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
