This is one of four charming cottages which occupy the site of a former colliery, just a short walk from the local beaches and delightful Northumberland coastline.

A short walk from the beach and only two miles from the charming walled town of Berwick. Here you’ll find numerous shops, restaurants, bars and cafés, perfect for a lazy afternoon eating and sight-seeing. You can also visit Bamburgh, Alnwick and Dunstanburgh castles, as well as several quaint fishing villages dotted along the coast. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne makes for a special day out. Reach it via the tidal causeway and explore its historic treasures, including the priory and castle.

Enjoying far-reaching views over the countryside and to the sea beyond, the cottage provides a peaceful base for family holidays, romantic getaways or time away with friends.

In the evenings, relax in the comfortable leather sofas in the lounge area which has a TV and DVD player. The lounge is open-plan with the kitchen and dining area, which is cheerful, modern and well equipped with electric oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave and dining table seating four. Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms, one double and one twin, the accommodation it offers is comfortable and welcoming. With Velux windows letting in the light, the bedrooms are bright and airy, with cosy beds and sharing a sleek, modern bathroom complete with bath, separate shower cubicle, sink and WC.

On sunny days, enjoy the privacy of your own patio area with seating, while children can head off to the shared play paddock where they’ll find plenty to keep them occupied in the form of a slide, swings and trampoline. The grassy paddock is perfect for picnics in the sunshine and throughout the grounds there are various places to sit and enjoy the tranquillity on a fine day.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with bathtub, shower cubicle and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher
  • Children's play paddock with trampoline, slide and swings
  • Central heating and electric included
  • Local amenities with easy driving distance
  • Wi-Fi available

  • TV/DVD in lounge
  • There is a no smoking policy (inc. E-cigarettes & Vaping) throughout the properties and grounds of ‘Woodlands'’. Due to the woodland setting, BBQ’s are not permitted.

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
