Found in Kyloe, a secluded hamlet eight miles outside Berwick-upon-Tweed, this property stands on a hill with views across the North Sea and Holy Island.

Kyloe is also within easy driving distance of the iconic Alnwick Castle, which has featured in many popular films, most famously Harry Potter. Travel to the popular seaside village of Bamburgh, and take some time to discover its lovely castle and gardens. For long sandy beaches head to Morpeth and Wooler, and for good shops and leisure facilities head out to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Lovers of the outdoor life will enjoy walking, cycling, and hiking in Glendale, Northumberland’s National Park, and the Cheviot Hills. Northumberland is also home to the Dark Skies National Park, Europe’s largest area of protected sky.

On arrival at this exceptional holiday home, you will notice that the design embraces an open-plan layout. Both contemporary and traditional interior stylings make for a light and airy central living space that encompasses a lounge, dining area and a kitchen. Adorned with tiled flooring, and ceiling beams, this attractive property offers up ample comfortable seating which centres around a cosy woodburner and TV/DVD for unwinding in front of at the end of a long day’s touring.

The kitchen area comes fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and a fridge/freezer. There is a dining table adjacent to the French doors, offering wide views across the surrounding countryside. Close by is a handy utility room containing a washing machine and space for storing your bikes. Away from the living areas are two bedrooms: on the ground floor is a king-size with access to a Jack and Jill bathroom with a shower and WC. The second bedroom is on the first floor and contains a king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made up into a twin on request).

Stepping outside the property, there is a small enclosed garden with outside furniture and a BBQ.

The cottage is really clean, well-equipped and comfortable, and is in a super location. Is is a very quiet and peaceful place, and ideal for walking, cycling and star- gazing. The view overlooking Holy Island, Ross Sands and Bamburgh is brilliant. It is a short drive to the coast, and about 20 minutes from Berwick, which is a nice place to visit. TRead morehere are some fantastic beaches in the area, and lots of interesting places to visit. The local inns and restaurants are good. Definitely recommended. Hide

Lovely cottage with everything you need inside and the views out to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh castle from the cottage are amazing. Great location to be based and visit lots of different towns like Alnwick and Berwick. We also took the train from Berwick to Edinburgh taking us along the east coast. Brilliant hosts will be back in the future

Great location and spotlessly clean and well equipped. The chickens visited us daily, which was fun! Highly recommend this spot for a peaceful holiday away from the main tourist areas (but still close enough to visit). This is a wonderfully located cottage with perfect views and great hikes from the house and further afield. It is very comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are extremely helpful without ever being intrusive.,We have been three times and have rebooked!

This is a beautiful cottage with a stunning view of Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne. The cottage is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything your'e likely to need. Washing machine and other useful equipment in adjacent shed. We had a lovely stay at Church Cottage. Stunning views to Holy Island and dark skies gave great views of starry skies on a clear night. Cottage beautiful and very peaceful. Very warm and comfortable. View out to Holy Island every morning was brilliant. Your spoilt for choice if you like to visit the odd castle or go walking or cycling. Also step outside the back door on a clear, dark night & look up. You will not be disappointed!! Great location, can't fault it.

Absolutely superb cottage. We had high hopes for a cosy winter cottage from the pictures but it exceeded our expectations. The owners have nailed every aspect and we will definitely be back.

Fantastic location overlooking both Lindisfarne and Bamburgh castle . Quiet and peaceful next to a converted church and grave yard . Helpful owners who are on site . Lovely large warm lounge . Loved every minute of our stay. Great location with good views of Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle. For the rainy day a trip to Barter Books in Alnwick otherwise miles of beautiful beaches to walk.

Beautiful, well appointed cottage in an idyllic setting with views across to Holy Island. Perfect for our family of four, with two young, active boys. Nice enclosed garden. This is our 2nd stay in this beautiful cottage and will not be our last. On arrival the 'homemade biscuits', milk in the fridge, cut flowers from the garden, bottle of wine are always a welcome treat after a long journey. Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location. This was our second visit to Kyloe Church Cottage and we couldn't wait. My brother joined us this time and kept waxing lyrical about the 'attention to detail' in the cottage. He fell in love with the surrounding countryside/coastline as much us. Stunning holiday location, views over Holy Island and along coast to Bamburgh Castle. Stunning sunrises. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed even down to a shower cap. We felt very comfortable and at home there.
