Situated in the grounds of the owner’s historic Georgian farmhouse – with three acres of land to explore – this delightfully spacious property makes a great base for discovering the spellbinding Northumberland countryside and offers plenty of chances to spot some of the local wildlife. Featuring exposed ceiling beams, this cosy and tastefully decorated retreat is perfect for visiting the historic town of Hexham.

Stepping into this refreshing property, the tastefully furnished open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner makes a wonderfully relaxing space for you to unwind in at the end of a great day. The charming lounge has a Smart TV and plenty of seating so you can snuggle up with a favourite movie or chat late into the night. The central dining table provides a delightful spot for a romantic meal for two which you can prepare in the stylish and fully equipped kitchen. Exploring further, the property offers a cool and spacious king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Heading outside, a patio table and chairs are ideal for a spot for al fresco dining in the courtyard which is shared with the neighbouring cottage. Beyond the cottage you will have access to three acres of shared parkland, ideal for exercising, walking the dog or sharing a picnic.

Known for its abbey and racecourse, Hexham (2.5 miles) also has a fantastic range of restaurants and pubs. Local attractions include Chesters Roman Fort and Museum (7.5 miles), The Sill, Corbridge Roman Town, Vindolanda, the Temple of Mithras and Housesteads Roman Fort (all within 15 miles). Ideal for following Hadrian’s Wall, the property is within easy reach of Northumberland National Park (10 miles).

The cottage is amazing. Very clean and cosy! The owner was lovely. The views are lovely. And we were very secluded. We will definitely be going back!

Lovely to place to stay, great views, peaceful location. Suited us and our dog perfectly. Location was perfect for days out to beauty spots and places of interested and not far from local shops. We will return.

Fabulous cottage set in outstanding grounds Julia the host was very friendly . The cottage is situated just outside Hexham ideal for sight seeing . We wished we could have stayed longer our little dog loved every minute . 10/10

The views and location are beautiful, our only gripes would be about the fact that we thought the field in the pictures would be available to us, as previous reviews have stated. There was no access to any field and the gate on the garden was broken so dog owners beware. The other gripe is the fact that when we arrived after travelling over six houRead morers, the first port of call was the toilet and although there is a polite notice asking to only put toilet roll down the toilet, there was none there. The cottage is amazing and in a wonderful location. Wildlife on your doorstep and some lovely walks. The location is central to visit any of the amazing visitor attractions in the area.

Ideal place for a base to explore Northumberland, Hexham town centre is literally a five minute drive away, and has all the amenities you need. Julia the host is very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
