This cosy stone cottage, set in peaceful surroundings and rolling hills and ideal for families, is the ideal base to explore Northumberland’s stunning coastline, while relaxing in a comfortable home-from-home.

If you’re planning on visiting the vibrant city of Newcastle, accommodation options like ours combine city access with all the comforts of home. Hill Top Cottage is a cosy, modern cottage for up to 4 people in 2 double bedrooms, with 2 bath/shower rooms located just outside the village of Lamesley - and better yet, you’ll find a fantastic local pub (The Ravensworth) nearby, which serves food. Access to the city of Newcastle upon Tyne is an easy drive from the cottage, and you’ll be within easy reach of the A1 motorway - for access to the beautiful county of Northumberland.

This is one of our most ideally situated Newcastle cottages - with Northumberland’s stunning heritage coastline and pretty, coastal villages and castles to the north, while the historic Cathedral City of Durham and many Areas of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) can be found to the south. Put simply, there are countless sights and local attractions to see during a city break in the North East.

When it comes to self catering, Newcastle upon Tyne is packed with suitable accommodation options. Hill Top Cottage is a recently built, detached, stone-built self catering property set in pretty, open countryside - with ample parking, spacious garden and patio areas, and a unique, purpose-built timber-frame gazebo (where you can enjoy a meal outdoors, or invite friends to join you for a drink and a BBQ). You’ll find horses grazing in the nearby fields from time to time, and breath-taking views across rolling hills.

The Angel of the North is a short drive from here, and retail lovers will be positively spoilt for choice at the Intu Metro Centre - just a 15-minute drive away - with a large Sainsbury’s nearby for your day-to-day needs. The greatest draw when it comes to cottages near Newcastle is, of course, the chance to explore the bustling city centre - which you can reach in just 20 minutes by car - making this the perfect place to stay during your city break.

Well appointed cottage, well thought out, care had been taken with design. A genuinely warm welcome form the owner, nothing was too much trouble. The 'goodies' were much appreciated.
