Property code: CN103

This lovely, cosy, three bedroom cottage is located in the heart of the historic harbour area in Seahouses. As the name suggests, the cottage was once owned by the local Herring Master himself. Centrally located and with its own, off road parking, Herring Master’s Cottage is only a very short walk to the wonderful harbour, as well as the village centre with its wide range of shops, superb restaurants and friendly local pubs!

Step inside this traditional fisherman's cottage and you'll immediately feel at home. There's a cosy wood burner in the stone-built inglenook fireplace in the spacious lounge, with comfortable sofas and an armchair just perfect for curling up and relaxing in after a long day on the beach or cycling through the rolling countryside. Entertainment is provided by a Smart TV with Blu-ray player. The contemporary kitchen/diner is light, airy and well-equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven and washing machine and there's seating for up to six around the dining table. You'll also find the bathroom on the ground floor with shower over bath, washbasin and WC. Upstairs, there are three cosy bedrooms, one with an original cast iron feature fireplace. Two are doubles while the third bedroom has bunk beds suitable for children or young adults. Each bedroom has plenty of storage.

Outside there is a decked area with a table and chairs for dining outside, as well as a gravelled area for your car.

You can see and walk to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle from Seahouses' beach or take the coast road for a scenic drive. The lovely beach and sweeping bay at Beadnell is a two minute drive in the opposite direction and well known locally for a range of water sports you can join in with or sit back and watch. Trips to the Farne Islands, days out in nearby Low Newton-by-the-Sea and the pretty harbour village of Craster with their walks to Dunstanburgh Castle, trips to Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Holy Island and so much more, are all on your doorstep. Herring Master’s Cottage is a great base from which you can explore all that stunning Northumberland has to offer.

Great location within walking distance of seahouses local amenities and next door to two pubs, close to Bamburgh and beadnell. Beautiful beaches for walking. Very dog friendly. Wonderful log burner very cosy. Kitchen small with small table seating only three, so unfortunately couldnt use the dining table together.

A really nice cottage just round the corner from the harbour and all the shops. Plenty of room inside for a family group with loads of plates, dishes etc. Off road parking is helpful in the area but the yard isn't secure if you need to let the dogs out occasionally. Really happy with our choice.

Dont stay until the property has been deep cleaned. I did contact mgmt co who sent in a cleaner but much of the grime was a build up over time. Mattress and duvet were both badly stained when I took linen off on last day. TV did not work but again repair was organised. Both of these points raised on a previous review but nothing actioned. Really saRead mored as it was in a perfect location and the bones of the property were lovely. Just not clean, therefore not comfortable. We left a day early. Hide

We stayed here twice in the past and thats why we were back! We were fortunate to be there in excellent weather but the house is great even if the weather isnt. The location is perfect, house is comfy and well equipped and off street parking is a bonus - 2 small cars fit on with space to spare. A lovely holiday in all respects. Thanks!

Nice home, lovely location. Felt like we paid a lot for it but was on par for cottages this year. There were some minor issues ( sticky residue on table that wouldn't shift and no cleaning sprays, bleaches etc provided) but comfy, well furnished lounge and main bed was extremely comfy made for a great getaway. Would come back.

Central, close to the harbour, easy parking (for one car. 2 cars possible but awkward) and quiet. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with reliable WiFi. The only downside really is the single bathroom that is the opposite of en-suite.
