Very cosy and homely feel to the cottage. Excellent location just a few steps from the harbour wall. Log fire very welcome even though the cottage was always quite warm anyway. Getting into the parking area through the arch is extremely tight if you have a large car and its not obvious where to park as other cottages have reserved signs up but farnRead moree retreat does not. Home from home wanted for nothing. The cottage was fantastic and well placed for all the facilities of sea houses. It was perfectly positioned for reaching all the sites all in all 10 out 10.

We had a wonderful stay in Seahouses, which was conveniently located for us for Alnwick Gardens, Bamburgh Castle and some stunning beaches. Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys.
