Apart from the problem with the heating the cottage was clean with everything we needed. Right opposite the bar and leisure centre , which was ideal.

Kitchen was better equipped than we thought it would be. Good range of glassware and crockery. Although the cottage was for 6, we were a party of 4 and the living/dining room was tight. The fridge was a little dodgy one moment freezing things next thawing. The door bar in the fridge was also missing so this limited space. The bedrooms were very comRead morefortable, with hairdryers, hangers and beautiful blackout curtains. Hide

Cottage was perfect for week, we were lucky with the weather, we were out most of time, there were 6 of us and it would have been very cramped if we were stuck in cottage, beds really comfy, swimming pool perfect, set in great location and stunning scenery. Great family break - cottages modern and well equipped, easy access to great leisure facilities and all set in a lovely part of the country with great days out. Well recommended during these Covid times, access to onsite restaurant facilities, and no big wedding parties disturbing the tranquility!

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
