Convivial seaside cottage on Northumberland’s stunning coastline with miles of sandy beach to explore from your doorstep. Enjoy all year round with family or friends

A dreamy retreat for families and friends, this single-storey seaside cottage is perfect for those looking for a rejuvenating break by the sea. Right next to a golden sandy beach in the village of Newton-by-the-Sea, it is set within the private grounds of an extensive working farm and boasts superb access to local amenities (a great village pub is only 0.5 miles away!). With so much to see and do on the doorstep, you could easily while away each day relaxing, playing on the beach and making use of the brilliant on-site amenities.

Take the steps up and wander into the dual aspect, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, framed by high ceilings and exposed beams. Bright and airy, the well-appointed kitchen has everything you could need for feeding hungry mouths and boasts an attractive island – a great centrepiece for chatting over a bottle of something special. Get busy in the kitchen and enjoy meals together at the inside dining table or, on sunny days, outside on the raised deck balcony. Later, the lounge area beckons for chilled evenings watching films or series on the Smart TV or listening to music from the mini Hi-Fi. For peaceful nights, the property features three bedrooms, each equally comfortable and tastefully furnished.

On sunny days, the shared outdoor play area will be a huge hit with youngsters, while rainy days are catered for with a superb shared games room. For the active among you, the extensive grounds and adjacent beach offer abundant walking and cycling routes, while sports enthusiasts can also try out the area’s sailing and windsurfing opportunities. To learn about local history, Dunstanburgh Castle is only 6 miles away and Bamburgh Castle is 9 miles away, and for a choice of eateries and boat trips to the Farne Islands, Seahouses is only 7.5 miles away.

Well equipped cottage in a lovely location with beautiful walks along the beach to Beadnell. May be a bit isolated for some, but we loved it. The peacocks kept us entertained! The website advertised a smart tv, but it wasnt, so be aware and take dvds if you want a movie night. Some of us found the duvets quite heavy & too warm, an option of a lower tog would have been appreciated. A mirror nearer to a plug socket would also be useful for those who need to use a hairdryer to style their hair.

Exellent...... spacious, well equipt, comfortable cottage in a 1st class location. Spotlessly clean throughout. From now on this would be my 1st point of checking for accommodation on returning to the area. Gorgeous.

Ideal remote rural location close to the gorgeous beach. Although all cottages appeared to be occupied at the time of our visit, there were no issues with privacy and comfort. Cottage was extremely clean and modern. We only stayed for 3 nights but intend to stay for longer next time! Only local facilities are two pubs within walking distance, both Read moreextremely busy and we couldn't get a table to eat during our stay as fully booked which was a shame. Maybe think about booking ahead of your visit. Hide

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.
