The cottage was in very good order and clean when we arrived. A decent supply of wood for the stove was provided. We found the heavy duvet too hot, but this was easily rectified by using other blankets provided. Its location was convenient for travelling to the nearby towns of Rothbury and Alnwick, but was isolated despite being by a main road. ThiRead mores suited us fine, but may not suit everyone. As it was wet and windy much of the time (we stayed over Christmas) we didn't use the outdoor seating. Hide

This was our 3rd visit to Clematis Cottage. It is ideal for our needs being located within driving distance of all of the attractions Northumberland has to offer. The cottage garden is a real gem and great to sit out at the end of the day. There is some road noise but not a real problem. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Absolutely fabulous holiday in Northumberland. The cottage is fantastic, very well equipped and quirky and a perfect base for exploring this wonderful county. The garden is amazing, really tranquil with a gazebo allowing us to sit outside despite some poor weather. We will definitely be visiting again

Idyllic little cottage. Small, but very comfortable and in a perfect location for visiting the many sites of interest Northumberland has to offer. We were a little concerned about some reviews mentioning road noise, but surprisingly for us (we live in a quiet rural village ourselves) it caused us no bother at all. The only downside I can think of iRead mores the very slow broadband. At less than 1Mbps, use of the internet is very restricted. Hide

Enchanting cottage furnished with stylish decor many items from a time gone by. Fantastic summer house in a stunning cottage garden frequented by many birds. Quiet setting even though it is just off a main road which makes the many attractions in the area very accessible. This cottage is very well placed for touring Northumberland. It is very well equipped and spotlessly kept. The garden is idyllic, including a comfortable sheltered zone to sit and enjoy the planting and the afternoon/evening sunshine. Bird life abounds. Plenty of information is provided by its thoughtful owner. Parking is private and convenient.

Lovely cottage, well situated for visiting Northumberland. Cottage had everything you needed. Wi-Fi a bit frustrating as not great. It is on a main road but it did not bother us at all. Lovely little garden, loved watching the birds coming down to feeders. Would definitely return.
